Looking to buy cleared tails.

I'm looking to get cleared taillights, like ELEGANT TYPE S, and some others. I have a pair of type-s tails in my garage. I'm just afraid to do it myself. I was wondering if someone can make these and do the same kind of deal as JnC. I will pay a labor charge and send my type-s tails back to the vendor.

PS. I have a 05 NBP TL.

PM msala524 he might have be able to help you. He's looking to get rid of a set that has some minor blemishes if you're not too anal like his ass is. J/K Mike.

Elegant, do you have the red and amber switchbacks in your tails or just the all red?

Why do you need switchbacks in your tails? You're not thinking bro! LoL I'll let you ponder that one a little longer before I clarify that one for you..

A suggestion for those of you clearing your own, or providing clearing services.

1) chill dog mention he dremmeled AROUND the outter edge so you would not see the cut line (shown with the blue tape above) when your trunk is open. That's more work I recognize, but it does look cleaner.

2) After doing mine, I don't like the cutline either... but I'm not about to do another set of these. I dug up some old carbon fiber overlay, trimmed a simple rectangle from it, and applied it over the cut. Now I've replaced a ghetto cut line with a 5HP adding CF trim... which you can never get enough of.

FWIW.
I'll post a pic tonight...
"listens for the scambling of everyone else headling out to apply CF overlay to thier cutlines..."

Haha.. yeah I'm prolly going to do this as well when I order my CF trim to re-do my headlights. Kennedy you mind posting up what CF trim you used and where you bought it? I wanna buy enough to cover the headlight corners and the 2 Tails.

You seen my headlight thread? I used leftovers

I bought CF a-pillars on ebay. It was NICE stuff. Really thick domed vinyl over real CF. I belive it's "mimousa" brand.

Something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/08-09...Q5fAccessories

Order frm a vehicle that has large a pillars (like the titan or odyssey). I pillar did both my headlights and left me with enough to do the tails too. I sold i pillar for 1/2 the investment so they could do thier headlights as well.

u cut behind the black plastic u see in the pic but the thing is... it has ridges so not only do u have to cut the ridges but u have to get into the lens to split the plastic. i always cut the ridges first n then go into the lens.

i have a pair of 05 base lights since i moved to the type s. but seeing how good it looks on NBP i'm thinking to do the same thing. I assume using either type s lights or the base would be the same or am i wrong ??

Backside of the housing. I cut along the edge (if you're looking at the back of a taillight, it's the one that's closest to you). I made two cuts with a 2" cutting wheel and a drill. The larger cutting wheel allows you to cut some inner supports to be able to separate the light. I connected those two cuts to each other and the cuts along the top and bottom with the Dremel. When you're done, you have two pieces: the clear lens with the side of the housing attached, and the rest of the housing. I have a pic with it identified, but it's on my Photobucket account, not my ImageShack account...can't access it at work.

That is the way to do it... but I have the next best option. I covered that section with some CF overlay. No cutline, and +5HP for CF accents...
