Looking for Advice on a 05 TL/Navi Lease Offered to me

I won't go into the whole story as it would take to long, so here is the short version.

Was a 1st buyer back in march, with no credit history, purchased a Cert 01 CLS with only 26K in excellent condition. Since then the car has been in the dealer 10times for faulty parts, repairs and a new transmission, since the new tranny has been install, my gas mileage went from excellent to poor ( went from 425+miles to less then 300miles on a full tank, local driving was worst, average 100miles on 1/2 tank).

As my CLS had been in the shop, i was able to get loaners np, i had them all RSX to RL, When my tranny was been replaced they gave me a TL/Navi to drive, over the week i had it driven it 1000miles, really enjoyed the car, suprised me, liked the interior and the features it has.

Because of all the problems they offered to put me in another CL/TL, i said if i was going get another Acura, i would serously consider the 04TL/Navi. Up to this point i had always been nice and well mannered to everyone i dealt with, the Higher managment at the dealer felt bad that as a 1st buyer, i went through alot of problems, so they said they would do something special for me.

Today the called and told me they got me approved after taking with Honda HQ for a 05 TL/Navi for a 48 month lease for $470 a month with 15000miles a year.

I have yet to find out what they are willing to buy back my CLS at, but i think its about $15-$15.5, bought it for 18K less taxes Tag dealer fee, i only owe 12k on it right now.

I know in order to get a lease you have long term Excellent credit, but yet with the credit i have is excellent, i'm only really starting out, 7 month history.

So my question is, other then getting approved for a lease, am i really getting a special deal as far the monthly payments go, only think i pay for is the transfer of tag, so all i am doing is a sign and drive.

I will find out more when i go to the dealer during the week, about how much there giving me back on my car.

Other question i have is there any issues like Tranny( althought i have my pick AT/MT) etc that i should know before i go back, as i have seen some people having probelms.

Thanks............

I don't know about Florida, but that is a very good lease price in California, assuming that you're talking about no capital cost reduction or other hidden fees.

If $470 will be your monthly payment and you don't have to have any upfront cost reduction - than this is great price for lease.

Dwcolt,

I will know more tomorrow, but there dealers Head of Finance has always been straight with me and seems to care somewhat. But from what i understand over the phone, my fees are only the transfer of tag, sign and drive.

If that really is the deal (and your monthly payment includes sales tax), then I'd say that's an outstanding lease. I'm paying just a tiny bit less for a non-navi with no cap-cost reduction or other fees. Watch out for the disposition fee!

Just a follow up from my phone call this morining. Turns like i somewhat assumed that there is no cap-cost reduction, disposition fee or other fees with this lease. Only cost i would be responsible for is if go over 60000 miles at the end of the lease.

I was also told that i have a $1500 credit, that when i turn in the car if any needs to be fixed or repaired that i am covered up to that amount.

If that's the deal, then it sounds like a very good lease. Be sure to check the rate that they charge for mileage overages (anything over .18 per mile is highway robbery). Also, make sure that the dealer will be up-front with you about the residual value they are using for the car and the money factor they are giving you. Last, be absolutely sure that the monthly figure they are quoting you includes sales tax.

Let me jump on this thread and throw in my 2005 TL 6MT w/o Navi lease deal to see what you guys think. I too am in South Florida. My lease deal, to be signed this Thursday, is for 42 months, $1550 due at signing, which includes the first monthly payment, tax, tags. My monthly payment will be $447 for 15,000 miles or $437 for 12,000 miles. I have to decide which to get. My current car is a 2002 Altima, purchased May 2002 and it only has 19,800 miles. As you can see, I don't drive the car that much.. So 12,000 should be enough. What do you all think about this lease deal?

Just one thing, you have some equity in your car (sounds like 3-4k) and you will be trading it in, so you are essentially putting 4k plus tax savings on 15k. If you total out the TL as you pull off the lot, you will lose all 4k of that $$$.

So you are really putting 4k down and paying 470 a month. That means 553 a month for 48 months = 26554 (for a 32k car) and you will own nothing at the end.

If you plan on financing the balance at the end of 48 months, then add the residual value to the 26500 to see how much the car will really cost you.

You can probably finance the car for 60 months for 50 more a month.

go 72 months with 4k down and your payments may be about the same.

And you aren't locked into the deal for 48 months.
