Looking at a 2007 TL Can you let me know what you think?
Here is the link: it's located at Bloomington Acura in MInnesota. Will the lighter interior wear and show a lot more use? As of now, it still looks pretty sharp from pictures.
Would love your thoughts-
thanks

The lighter interior color will show cracks much more visible than black leather, just make sure you clean it and give a good leather conditioner every 3 months or so to slow down the proccess. BTW the car is some what over price for a non Navi model.

everything looks great on the internet but until you see in person, I would say some time looks can be deceiving.

Since I cant actually see the car all I can do is base it off the add, crappy pictures, and the carfax report. Based on those items it looks like it has potential to be a VERY nice car. Excellent carfax report with no reported accidents and great service history and only 1 owner are all key items. Only issue for me is its a non-nav car. However, if that doesn't make a difference to you then this could be a great car. Very nice color combo as well.
As for the interior color and wear, it all depends on the owner. If your anal and OCD like me then the seats will be fine. If your an average joe who daily drives their car and doesn't think twice about caring for seats or how you get in and out of your car, the seats are gonna show their age pretty quickly. Its hard to tell in the pics, but the seats look like they might be alright. Overall that color interior is great looking, I would say for sure go check that one out. If its very clean and with the perfect history it has I would say price is pretty fair from a dealership.
To give you an idea what that interior looks like in immaculate condition here is a picture of my tan interior in my first TL which was a base 07 w/nav. This car had over 60,000 miles in these pictures...if I told you it had 10 miles you would believe me :-)

I'd think that small cracks would be more visible on a black leather. My black seats show some wear and it is light natural leather color under the black paint.
Love that color combo.

What I do first to thoroughly clean the leather and get every last spec of dirt off is LIGHTLY and gently use a wet Mr Clean magic eraser. You will not believe the amount of nasty dirt that will come off onto the Magic eraser. I do this on all leather surfaces including the steering wheel..which btw will make you puke when you see what the eraser gets off that. After that I use a warm and wet cloth and Zaino "leather in a bottle". This can be substituted for your favorite leather care product, Zaino just happens to be what I use.
Remember, magic erasers are a slight abrasive material so don't go crazy otherwise there is a chance you can damage the leather. Some people may not like this method, but it works and if you saw some of the vehicles I had with higher mileage you wouldn't believe your eyes. Besides, to me putting leather cleaner on leather seats without really cleaning them is like waxing your car without clay baring first.
I have one for you, let me know when your ready to make a deal :-)

JTS that is the cleanest TL interior I've ever seen. You sure you even drove that car?!
Magic Eraser...I've heard of people using that, or even a scrub sponge, very lightly. I may have to try it.

Magic Erasers work by cutting through the top coating of finish on the leather which is why they always appear to have such great results. IMHO it will cause long term damage. Magic Erasers act like a very fine sandpaper. I would be very careful using them like James said above.

As far as long term effects, I can understand the concern, but the highest mileage vehicle I have owned and used this method for years on was my 2000 Accord coupe that I eventually sold with 130,000 miles. I'm at work now so I don't have the pics to post, but later I will add interior pictures and you won't believe me if I told you the mileage and that the seats have ever been sat in...literally.
Again, if someone isn't comfortable using this method that's perfectly fine, but I have had excellent results...as seen above. Oh and btw it's not like I do this all the time. I typically only would do this once after purchasing a used vehicles to get whatever crap was on the interior or especially if it was a higher mileage and older used vehicle. Then once I get the interior cleaned to my liking I typically don't have to do it again because I'm OCD about my cars haha
You serious? So you think that's about a 10,000 dollar car? One owner accident free and with relatively low miles? So what does that make ur 04 worth? 4k? Come on man lets not degrade our cars, we want the values to be high.

There's all kind of literature on the net about using the magic eraser. Based on what I've read, I still stand by my statement
I'm glad you clarified your use of the product that is, you only use it once to get all the old gunk out of a used car and not repeated applications.
The dye in our TL's come off pretty easy. At least that's the way it is in my car. Too chicken to risk it.

That said I've used on car surfaces before to remove small blemishes and it works great. You have to be very careful not to "sand it" and you definitely don't want to use a magic eraser as your #1 tool for detailing your car obviously.
