My wife just tells me that a tree branch or "something" scratched the entire side of her '02 TL - like QTR panel to QTR panel!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!

Needs opinions here - she said it did not scratch it - like NO white showing. SHe says she cannot feel the scratch at all - but it sure looks like shit. How can this be fixed - I'm guessing it did not penetrate the clearcoat - otherwise I'd expect to see white or feel a scratch. How can I take this out - or is this only fixable by a Pro - or only fixable by painting?

Yeah I know - this, like the recall is not major, this is not a big deal to some - but you know what - it is still a pain in the ass and who has time for this type of crap? I'd rather play with my kid or do something else.

Any idea to approach this? I do not want to cover it up. I want it removed like it was never there.

A professional may be able to buff it out if it is not down to the metal or all the way through the clear coat (if through the clear coat, they will have to buff off all the other clear in the area, you do not want to do that).

rub your hands over it , if you cant feel any of the scratches then they didnt cut and most likely its the same thing as a black sneaker leaving a mark on a hardwood floor, get rubbing compound and a clean rag and follow the instructions on the side it should come off , if that doesnt work then it is a scratch that has to be painted
