Light Gurus: ZKW-R Lens Install in Chicago

All,

This probably doesn't belong here. I don't have a TL, (love the car though) and understand that the TL projector is probably one of the best, and I figured more TL guys do more lightwork than BMW guys in Chicago. I have E46 M3 with stock projectors and lenses. I was looking to buy a ZKW-R lens for my projectors, but I can't do the install myself and was willing to pay someone to do it. Anybody here know a decent lighting shop in Chicago that can install this for cheap? Maybe some shield bending as well to add some color to it? I've been researching to see who can do it and I've had no luck.

Thanks.

I thought E46s have genuine zkw lens already, why would you want replicas?

I dont think all e46's have the clear lens. a quick search shows that the m3's dont have it? I could be wrong. anyways its not a super hard install. Check out this thread:

however if thats too challenging for you, I guess you should take it to someone who knows what they are doing. I don't know any places in chicago but I know couple places in LA if you want to deal with shipping

The newer E46's came with Bosch projectors and lenses. ZKW's were prone to burning the bowl (something like that). But yeah, I have a Bosch lens.

No offense but something seems odd here.

E46 headlights made by bosch use the bosch bi-xenon projectors which do not have the burnt bowl syndrome.

For some year E46s ZKW made the headlights and those are the ones that use plastic bowls, which eventually at some point burn out.

In order to replace the bowls you would have to replace the whole projectors, mostly people opt for FX-R projectors. You cant swap just the lenses as the lenses are not the issue here.
