Ive searched the threads up and down.It is very unclear on what the FINAL word on the rear license plate screw size are!!!!

i would go to a hardware store and get stainless ones and some anti seize especially if u live where it snows... this is what i did and its been WAY better

I had trouble getting one of mine off. I thought I was going to have to drill it off. I finally got it off. I think I need a new screw-in.

 

You don't.

Use a t-handle and an M-6 tap to clean the threads, you simply have a boundary layer of oxidation. Follow up with an anti-seize to prevent further oxidation; this is infinitely easier than replacing the mount.

 

Formal classification of the hardware is as follows:

M6 x 20 8.8 ISO4017 / DIN933

M6 (SIZE)
20 (LENGTH)
8.8 (THREAD PITCH)
ISO 4017 / DIN 933 (FULL THREAD SCREW)

NOTE: Almost all fasteners are 8.8 pitch...it's relatively uncommon to find a 10.8 or 12 pitch thread pattern and is usually specified.
