has anyone modified the lights for the license plate at the back of the car?
does www.superbrightleds.com sell any of the lights suitable for it?

 

Read the thread for "Blue dome door light mod" it talks about the site, product code and steps.

 

I was able to get to the license plate bulbs from the outside. I'll try to explain...

• Remove all license plates and brackets
• Open trunk
• Locate bulb cover – push this to the left and pry open on right side (I may have the sides reversed)
• The entire unit should come loose.
• The unit basically rotates downward, you should see the bulb.
• You have to work at dislodging the unit from underneath the trim – BUT IT WILL COME OUT.
• After it comes out, release the two tabs on the sides and change the bulb (Same bulbs as dome lights).
• After changing the bulb, I had to use a butter knife on the bottom to get it back inside the trim work.
• After it's inside the trim, I had to use a butter knife on the top to get it back inside its mount.



The bottom line here: have patience. The first bulb may take ten minutes, but the second will only take you two.
