Let's talk about the limited-slip

For those of us with the 6-speed, what do you have to say about the limited slip? I'm interested in your opinions as well as knowledge on this subject.

I know that my 6MT corners well. I don't know how much of that I can attribute to the LSD, because I haven't spent much time in the auto TL aggressively cornering.

There is a great thread on the LSD though, it definitely cleared up a few things for me:

I love my 6MT but honestly the car handles what I would consider poorly if you're expecting any level of performance handling based on prior experience and not an assumption of what a performance vehicle handles like. The TL (6MT/5AT) is a great car for what it is but it's only a performance sedan in the mind of someone that has never actually driven a real performance sedan. The G35, WRX/STi, EVO, BMW3, BMW5 all handle much much better than the TL.

I don't think my 6MT w/ LSD handles any better than the 5AT I drove and in fact is a bit more difficult to control near the limit.

I really do feel that my TL is great vehicle but you have to manage expectations.

i have to admit my BMW 3 series handles a whole lot better than my TL but its not fair comparing the 2 cars. this TL is bigger and heavier and the weight distribution is bias towards the front. but for a pretty large fwd car with 270 ponies i think the TL does a nice job in turns. i don't think anyone here thinks the handling is the best but it certainly can holds its own.
