Question Leftovers From an A-Spec

When getting the A-spec package the following are actually replaced at the dealer: Rims, Shocks/Springs, Steering Wheel.

My question is have people done any of these:
1) Recieved the replaced OEM parts for whatever use in the future? And what are your plans for these parts?
2) Did you use the value of the replaced OEM parts against the price of the A-Spec package and let the dealership keep these parts?

I would guess that most dealers count on people not asking for the original parts back. I requested all of the original parts back on my car, though mine hasn't even been built yet. Also, most dealers will not give you a credit for the parts that are replaced by the A-Spec package. I believe most people (those who ask for them back) plan to sell them on eBay or something. I haven't decided what to do with mine yet, but I know I will be keeping the original 17s for winter tires.

Jimbo -- always keep your OEM parts. I did so when I modded the hell out of my TL-S .. you NEVER know when you're gunna sell your TL, or perhaps claim insurance on it or what not .. and perhaps you'll THEN want to sell the MORE VALUABLE A-spec parts to many many people who would gladly buy them from you.

I guarantee you you'd get nothing for your OEM parts on ebay (besides the 17" wheels and tires of course .. you'll get minimum $700 plus shipping for those).

Also, if you decide to trade in the car to say an infiniti dealership in a year, ... they won't care which of the A-spec parts (besides the cosmetic outer parts of the package) you have, therefore you can re-install the stock suspension and steering wheel and trade in the car.

By no means an A-spec package, but last year when I purchased my Civic I had some better Honda rims put on the car. I didn't ask for the stock rims, but the salesman was nice enough to insist that I get them. Someone in their service dept. even tried to nick them, but he wouldn't allow it. I sold those horrible looking stock rims on ebay for $750. Stock rims! Have you seen them??! I was grinning from ear to ear.

Ask for those parts and sell them yourself. You're bound to get a better price.
