Left side rattle

The left side of my dash/instrument cluster/left air vent area has a constant rattle. I haven't been able to find anything in the forum about a rattle in this area. Put felt under the left air vent but this didn't help.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I think I have the exact same rattle. It appears to be coming from somewhere close to the instrument cluster. I haven't been able to isolate it yet. It sounds sorta like big chunks of salt being shaken in a shaker.
I saw a post that suggested it might appear to come from the dash, but is really coming from the visor - not so in my case. It's not my signal or wiper controls either...

I drown it out with music for the time being.

Mine sounds more like a rattle than the salt sound your describing. I know it's not my visor.

I had the same rattle. It's very annoying. Her's the fix:

Remove the left vent (pulls out with minor effort), place 1 1/2' thick foam in between the hard plastic vent tunnel and the upper dash. Make it snug enough so you have some difficulty re-installing the vent. This should work. LOL.

Did you check your tweeter? Pry it out entirely and see if the rattle goes away.

Tried the tweeter thing. Not the noise (for me at least). Seems that the plastic heat tunnel behind the vent expands into the inner top of the dash in certain temps. Jamming foam in between the tunnel and the dash got rid of the noise for me.

Tried your foam fix and it didn't get rid of my particular rattle. But while doing it, I noticed that if I pound on top of the dash over the instrument cluster, I can hear the rattle seeming to be coming from the instrument area. Pulled the cover off of the instruments and put a lot of foam around the top of the gages. Still rattles. My guess is that it's the instruments or the plastic covers for the gages that is rattling.
Can someone pound their dash over their gages and see if you hear the rattle I'm describing.

make sure there's nothing in your cupholders, then, while driving over bumps and cracks, squeeze the left heat vent and dash where the vent meets together. If it still rattles, press the black plastic inlay surrounding the clear plastic instrument cluster cover

It's probably the same thing my TL has. Where the door meets the air vent, the plastic pieces are rubbing causing a sound. To me it's more of a sqeaking sound than a rattle.

Mine is a rattle not coming from the door/vent area.

Are the round tweeters on the outside edges of the dash easy to remove? I can get my center channel out, but have a rattle near my passenger side tweeter I can't get rid of.

Thanks.

I did the similar thing as nednj36 did. The noise has been reduced, but not completely GONE...

Sometimes, I have to trim this damn rubber between A-pilar and window to get rid of the rattle.
