So I have recently purchased an '08 TL Type S and looking to do the LED lighting. I have searched the threads and there is so much info on this but I guess it's always changing as well. Bulbs vs. panels, VLED, MTEC, etc. I would like an easy switch. I am not mechanically inclined. I would like to do the interior and the license plate. Any help would be appreciated.

type acura tl liscense plate led on ebay got mine for like $5

 

same with dome/interior led cost a little more; but can get every light swapped out...

Sometimes the Search Engine is tricky. I typed in "License Plate Lighting". Then I waited for a second or two, and a drop down appears with different options to click on.

panels are brighter then regular led bulbs
but as of led there are differnt type, there regular led, smt led, flux led, hi power led....etc.

i recommend using led board for the dome lights.

For the license plate LEDs, make sure you get the bulbs with the built-in heat sinks like these:

The License plate bulbs are the ones that are illuminated for the longest periods of time and require heat sinks for any longevity. This is why people complain about them being the shortest lived of all their LEDs. I installed the bulbs listed above about a year ago and have had no trouble whatsoever. They are still going strong.

 

are the license plate bulbs the same for preludes, s2000s and TLs? im trying to get a set for all these of these vehicles.. thanks

Thanks for all the replies. I got a few off ebay and I am going to give it a shot this weekend.

 

I just ordered PIAA W2 Xtreme Super White bulbs for the reverse lights & PIAA 19172 for the plates. I had bad luck with the eBay ones, they went out in 3 weeks.
