Leather-wrapped Maven! Thoughts?
Leather-wrapped Maven! Thoughts?
Hey all!
I wanted a weighted shift knob that was also leather-wrapped, but never realized how hard they are to find (if they even exist for M10x1.5). So I found a fellow AZ member selling a slightly banged up Maven for a great price and figured I would try making my own! First time stitching leather (or quite frankly, anything) and I think it turned out quite well. All hand-stitched and bought some glue, but didn't up having to use any (except a tad on the bottom because I don't completely trust myself), so it's also completely removable!
I didn't realize how small/narrow the Maven was until I got it and the wrapping the knob definitely helped add some "girth"
It's been frigid in NorCal (so like, low 40s) and the few times I've used it so far, it hasn't felt the slightest bit cold. Looking forward to see how it stands up to the sun!
Color is a bit off from the shift boot, but its totally worth it to me. Can't even tell under normal light.
