Leather Color Variation
I'm planning on buying a TL in the next few months and took
test drives a few weeks ago. The demo was NBP with camel
and I had a very strong negative reaction to the interior . . .
way too orangy I thought.
Anyway, I went back to the lot the other day to look at the
exterior colors . . . I was specifically looking at the Redondo
Red. Well when I saw the camel in the red car, it seemed
much less objectionable. In fact I liked it I'm not sure if its just the combo, or if their are is a lot of variance in the color, car to car.
At this point, I feel so confused as to which color combo I
want.
Has anybody else had this experience ??

My advice to anyone who is on the fence relative to a color combo is to just have the dealer park all the car combos you're interested in side-by-side in the same lighting condition. Then you just walk in and out, up and down the TL's and make the decision that way. Based on what time of day it is or the weather, a combo can look, IMO, drastically different from the day before.
If you're looking to buy and not sure what you like, just have them all parked side by side (if the dealer has the combos you want) and that should do the trick.
Asking about what we all think looks best will get you tons of different answers as beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Are you sure the leather you saw in the red one was camel? Because the red also comes with parchment leather, which is a bit lighter than the camel. I still think it looks too yellow-ish, though, which is why I went with the quartz. I think that looks great with the blue exterior, but with the red, I may have gone with parchment. I agree with trip11 - you've got to see them all side-by-side to compare, before you decide.

Now that you mention it . . . I'm not sure if I was looking at
Camel or Parchment. From all the posts I've seen here, I
would have expected the parchment to be much lighter.
Which color interior do most of you think is the hottest combo with
the red ?

I'd go with parchment if you like a light interior, or ebony if you like a dark one. I'm partial to a lighter-colored interior myself, because I think it looks more spacious, and also because it makes a nice contrast with a dark-colored exterior (my TL is abyss blue). The redondo red is kind of an "in-between" color, though - not too dark, not too light, so it could work with either one. Not sure if it's available with quartz leather, but if so, I'd consider that combo as well.
(Heh heh... I ended up recommending everything but camel, which you already said you didn't like. A lot of help I am!) :p
