KPH display hard to see on Speedometer?
I am waiting for my Redondo Red Pearl / Parchment with AUTO and NAV to arrive any day now but want to see if others noticed this on the speedometer. I noticed it during a demo ride at the dealer.
I plan to take my new TL to Canada about once a year and noticed that the inner readings for KPH under the MPH readings are very hard to read. It's a little bit easier at night but not great. I suppose for Canadian TL owners it would be the opposite.
For others that travel in both countries, have you done anything to make the inner readings more easy to read? Anything a dealer can do about this?
It's not a big issue as I can calcuate the conversion in my head to be sure I don't speed (too much...lol) over the speed limit in Canada. Just thought it was a small oversight that should be fixed.
Thanks as always.

I don't think that there is any mechanical solution to your problem that the dealer could devise. I find the metric hard to read too, so, like you, I do the math in my head. It's pretty easy for distance and speed rate. I must admit I haven't mastered the celsius/farenheight equation yet, but I'm working on it.
It is very hard to read. It's also annoying that Honda/Acura insist on putting it in 20 km/h intervals instead of 10 km/h. About the best I can suggest is that you learn the more common speed limits' values in American measurements--100 km/h is a bit over 60 mph, 90 km/h is just over 55 mph, 80 km/h is 50 mph, 70 km/h is approximately 44 mph.
As far as the other numbers--converting temperature or converting litres to gallons--if you have the Navi, there is a converter on there. Go to the calculator screen and you'll find it. Useful if you like to keep track of your petrol usage.

Also I suspect (hope) that cars sold in Canada have the kph in the outer ring of the speedo. But then they'd have the same problem driving in the US (much more likely than Yanks driving in Canada, given the fact 95% of the Canadian population is within about 50 miles of the US border).
