This kinda sucks
I've been lurking around here for a short time now, and some of the posts here convinced me to pick up a 2006 5AT w/Navi on June 30th. It now has 4100 miles on it, and I've never been happier with a car.
Unfortunately, what's convinced me to make my first post here is this:
Driving home from work yesterday, a stinkin deer decided to jump onto the hood of my < 4 month old TL. We weren't going very fast, and it didn't cause that much damage, but still, this hurts...

I am taking it to the shop today for an estimate to have it fixed.

Crappy first post, hope that you get it back to original, it doesnt look that bad. Good news is that you got to put the first ding in it rather than a friend or family member. The thing I cant figure out is here in San Diego at the Wal Mart they have a whole end cap display of deer whistle thingys. Now they dont look cool and I dont think a human can hear them, so WTF are they doing trying to sell them in San Diego? If you need a set I know where they have hundreds!

The deer traipsed off without a scratch. I'm sure it was laughing at me the whole time.
The dent is the most obvious part, but there are several scratches on the hood where the giant rat landed, and I think it even scratched the windshield.
The wife was driving, and I think it scared her more than anything else, but nobody was hurt at least. I think she doesn't want to drive the car anymore because it's not "perfect"
I live in Northern VA, this happened in Fairfax County (Chantilly) I doubt it will cost too much to fix anyway, popping out one small dent and touching up a few scratches.. but if I ever see that deer again, it's going down!

NOVA Meet Sunday!!!!
Sorry for the mishap on your car. Dumb critter....
There's a meet tomorrow and I didn't see your name on the list. Meeting in Manassas @ noon then going to take a run down Skyline Dr at 2 I believe. Look in the 3rd Gen then under MEETS. Maybe we'll see you then. I'll be able to recognize you...

Funny, I didn't check online today before the meet so I was actually looking for this dent in all the 3G's seeing if you were going to make it. Missed a good time. Hope you at least made some $$$ to fix that thing and do some mod's.
Its funny how I could tell you were from the maryland/VA area just from the small glimpse of your neighbors and landscape. I should have been able to narrow it down to VA from your inspection stickers though
My dealer (in NY) gave me a gift card for fixing one (1) dent that is less than 2 inches in diameter. Hopefully I will never have to use it. From your pix, the dent does not seem that deep, and it might be pushed out quite easily.
sorry about your little incident. from what i can see, thats not just a ding or a small dent. its a big dent and its a dent at a bend in the sheet metal. those are the the worst to get out. That dent repair and other repairs should be covered under the comprehensive rider on your car insurance plan. your deductible shouldn't be too much for that... and you won't have to skimp out on a complete repair job, if thats what you're really looking for.
