Sort of....

It was kind of late and the road was empty.

I came up behind a ricer (I don't remember what kind of car it was.) he moved over I passed him and noticed he was next to the SRT-4. I decided this was my chance and I took off from about 50. He nailed it, but couldn't catch me and he was trying. This went on for about a mile at speeds around 90 or so. we finally hit a light, I had to turn right he got next to me, gave the car a slow looksie and took off. I think he was surprised. I'm sure he would have killed me from a dead stop though... So its sort of a kill.

sure an srt4 would kill a tl but look its a dodge neon...its an ugly piece of ****...i take my tl over any dodge anyday its stupid to even think about comparing a TL to a neon..LOLZ

The Neon SRT-4 rips to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds, to 100 in 13.8, covers a quarter-mile in 14.2 seconds at 102 mph, and keeps on huffin' all the way to 153 mph.


He wouldnt have ripped me apart. It would have been close. I sure I caught him off guard.

TL can still looks better even if he beat me.

IF those are the stats, then neither car can kill the other. If that happens, and both are 6-speeds, then it's driver error or whoever got the jump first.

No sh!t sherlock! Our cars aren't meant to be raced..but happen to be one of the fastest sedans out on the market. An SRT-4 is nothing but some high schoolers fantasy go-kart that happens to be turbo-charged.

Sigh, the SRT-4 is one of the cheapest, most exciting cars out in years. It is handing the Honda Civic Si it's ass (it's competition). With mods, it is a 300hp beast from THE FACTORY!

The guy was comparing the race, not the 2 cars.

listen.. I was just replying to his comment about his wasted a SRT4... and my reply was on his race.. not on comparison of two cars...

most of you are biased about the performance of TL, because you guys own one...

but again to the original post.. in comparison of speed to speed.. SRT4 will still destroy TL...

I know...sorry if you got the impression I was attacking in you in any way? I actually like the SRT-4...great car...hella fast. It's just those snotty high schoolers that think they are da'sh!t just b/c they drive one. Again, my apologies!

not a problem sir.. actually one of my friend has SRT4.. stage 1 upgrade.. and after 1 year.. he only had a problem with an axle.. he had so much power to the wheels that he actually twisted his axle.. it was covered by warranty of course.. if u are looking for a speed... it will give you the best bang for the buck..

I think SRT4 would make great 2nd vehicle...

i'd rather have an STI, but for the price of the neon, it's pretty badass. it doesn't look all that bad either.

Why is a Dodge Neon and a TL being mentioned in the same breath in any sentence other than "Boy I remember when I used to drive a Dodge Neon as a kid, I'm glad I moved up to an Acura TL".

Seriously, though... who cares? Who in their right mind would even consider these two cars as competing purchases at the same time?

I agree but you have to realize that these are the same guys who are comparing the BMW M3 to this car as well. Not priced ANYWHERE near each other yet "somehow" these guys seem to enjoy evaluating two COMPLETELY dis-similar cars. Guess they would argue about how to patch a hole in a boat as it was sinking and never realize that they were underwater until after they were done with the arguement. Bottom line...who cares if they match up or not. It was a Neon but at least the original poster had some fun. Good for him!

SRT-4 has great abilities to push some serious horsepower with simple (intake/down pipe/exhaust) combo. Now imagine doing some internals (rods, valves, pistons, etc.). :wow:

While I hate street kill stories, I feel compelled to respond.

First, for the money, that is a great little car.

When you make fun of other cars, others may perceive you as arrogant. If someone on this board also owned a BMW and posted a link to a post where someone with a 540i reported a TL “kill”, you would probably react negatively. They would call the TL a glorified Civic and ask that TL’s not be mentioned in their forum as they are not worthy.

Stepping on my soapbox for a minute – racing is for the track. I have a race bike exclusively for trackdays and a street bike for normal riding. I choose the TL over the G35, as I don’t need a track car. The better quality of the interior sold me on the TL.
