Before I say "You don't have a chance", what kind of car / what mods do you have installed? It would be much easier to make the call .

he is probably a mid 13 second car or lower, don't waste your gas unless you are seriously modified.

If you were 6MT i think you MAY have a chance, but since you are auto he is rwd and manual he should win pretty bad.

Now I'm pretty new to the site (LONG time lurker)...but what right does a 17 year old kid with a car his parents paid for have to call another spoiled kid with an even faster car a cocky "high school kid"...bit of the case of the pot calling the kettle black...?
and to answer, I think you'd get absolutely destroyed
TL-S w/ bolt ons= low-mid 14 second car trapping <100 (lucky to break 13's)
Mustang GT w/ bolt ons= easy low 13 second car trapping 105+....
Good luck my young street racing friend...

Yet another case of a proven slower car "beating" faster cars...go check out bimmer forums and read up their kill section, full of people with 318i's and 320i's who "run g35's and TL-s' all day long"....
I would dare you to race any car that traps 105+ in the 1/4 and see how much of a drivers race it is...you are talking porsche 997 carrera territory.
At your age, no matter what you believe, your parents pay for your car. You're lack of age and gramatical sense are clearly a testament to your lack of education and marketable job skills. This implies that you work at a retail outlet at best, or more than likely a minimum wage job at a fast food joint. Regardless whether or not that's true, at your age if you are "paying for all your shit w your money" and are willing to put "2 g'z on the line jO!" then you are a kid who works for his car which is even more stupid, especially since you bought yourself a heavy automatic sport sedan with the intentions of going fast (more evidence that your parents chose your car for you). If you want to see fast, go out to your local track, check out the kids who have REALLY put their heart and soul into a car, and bought cars that they can genuinely afford on their budget, just to see how quickly you will be humbled by some kid in a $6000 ek hatch that will blow your doors off.
You may drive a nice car, and you may not have monster wings on it, underglows, but you are in every bit ricer. Keep up the good work kiddo.

As for you hanging with this Stang, if the kid has any clue on how to race, he'd rip your TLS a part. He could launch off of idle and he should go sailing by you by 30mph. Like others have pointed out, it's a legit mid 13 second/103mph+ car with those mods. Your TLS would be lucky to do 14.6s.
Pick a wiser race unless you want to be $2K in the hole.

TLS would do alot better than 14.6s...a stock 2nd gen on a good day would do 14.6s...but thats besides the point...the TLS is modded it prolly runs high 13s maybe MAYBE mids 13s but stangs have ass loads of torque and with mods they gain ass loads of HP so theres no doubt that the stang would woop up on u but at the end of the day your car is reliable and his is not...so take it for what its worth...and theres nuthn wrong with sayin ur folks cosigned for u or whatever the case maybe ...ur only 17...parents should b taking care of u

lol im sure theres no problem with a 19 yr old owning a 335 its just a lil suspect...im sure some ppl r haters but its very rare u hear about a 19 yr old drivin a 335 unless there on mtvs my super sweet 16 or sumthn lmao...u must have one hell of a job and not go to school...even at 80 months a for a $45K car the note is $563 a month thens theres interest and insurance and gas...AND u have two cars...most ppl find that fishy since ur not a legal adult and u claim to have no parental help...but i say more power to u...u prolly have all the hoes lmao

I never said there was a problem with a 19 year old owning a 335i (beautiful car) nor did I say I had beef with a 17 year old owning a TL-S. My initial problem was that he made a comment about one of his PEERS being a cocky little high school kid when the OP is just that, a spoiled kid with a nice car (that I still maintain is slower than any mustang GT, let alone a 410 bhp monster).
Like Dave_b said, there's no shame in having wealthy parents (or parents who are willing work their asses off to pay for their kids $35k sports sedan), but to claim that you are doing it on your own is ludicrous and just plain disrepect to your parents. If you do own the car, and are making the payments, paying insurance, and covering your own gas at your age then chances are you are living hand to mouth. Sure the prospect of owning a 300 hp Bavarian monster was tempting at 19, and if I worked REAL hard, I could make it happen. But what was even more exciting to me at the time was getting a university degree, and having career prospects for the future, having people respect you for you, not you for the badge on your car (that you either live for, or your wealthy parents bought for you). To each is his own I guess...

The prob isn't young people owning expensive cars, the prob is that most young people don't respect the responsibility that comes with owning a car.
Why do you have to race on public streets, what is the point? It's not a video game where you can Restart.

Uses turn signals in my
I'm not saying I believe or don't believe if the OP did pay for his car by himself or whatever but I would like to state something from personal experience:
My friend in high school owned a new Range Rover with some nice ass 24" wheels when he was 17 years old. He works with his dad remodeling kitchens in upperclass houses and often pulls 15k+ by himself for each job closed. He paid for the Range Rover by himself. Very nice kid by the way.
Back to the topic...Don't do it. Chances are good that your going to get F-ed in the A.

There are,
2 guys who ran 13's in 6MT TL: OMP Prelude and Type-s09
1 guy who ran a 14.01
1 guy who ran a 14.1 (stock)
3rd gen TL AT
1 guy ran 14.3: CAI, catback and pulley - againstallodds1
1 guy ran 14.6: stock - email_33
Just a quick 2 seconds search and already found those times.
the 14.46 time is from a 2nd gen, not 3rd.
If a 3rd gen TL 5AT can run 14.3, that's already consider as low 14's, then I don't see why a TL-S AT can't beat that.
Besides, there's a CL 5AT NA that ran a 13.1 as shown for many times already.
As for whether the OP really bought the car on his own or not, I really don't see why it's so surprising at all. A lot of "kids" these days are more mature than we think and are actually investing the small amount of money they have earned from a low paying job in the stock market. It's not old news that a lot of "kids" have become millionaires. Of course the OP could be lying but we can't just assume he got his car from his parents.

I have a friend that is paying off a brand new 2007 Z, but his parents co-signed... BUT he is making the payments himself. The money comming from him isn't clean, tho.. No, no, not slanging drugs, just jipping the company HARD... Nowadays, there are so many alternative ways to come up with money, it's ridiculous... And to see these broke asses on the streets, they don't deserve a penny from me because they don't work for their shit.. As for the "older peeps" saying kids can't pay for their shit, think again. I suggest you guys take a time machine space trip from 19xx to 2007.

Nobody said teenagers these days can't afford things, but honestly a $35K car is a lot of money for a teenager going to school and working a straight job.
Please tell me, legally, how much money do you make after taxes?

anyways. I'm gonna hand this thread back to the OP.. I just have to voice my opinion because i'm sick of this "you're 17-19, u can't afford this and blah blah blah.. your parents paid for it etc etc..."
