Keep or Sell? (Advice Needed..Soon)

I wasn't sure where to put this so I kept it on the general forum page for the 3G. Looking for some advice on what to do.

I get bored with cars in about a year...as I'm sure many of you guys do also. Sometimes I break even on them and other times I lose out for selling so quickly. Then once I purchase a new car, it takes a few months and a couple hundred to get the car/truck to houston stock where I'm happy with its appearance.

Now fast forward to August 2012, I've had my TL-S for about a year, maybe a little less. I'm at the point where the new car has worn off and contemplating selling it. I'm on the fence of whether to keep it and start modding (more than what I've already done to it) or sell it and get into another vehicle.

The trade-in value is a little less than what I owe on it, but if I sell outright, I'll break even and most likely have some cash leftover to put into a new ride.

If I keep it, it will be getting a lip kit/coilovers/wheels/exhaust/etc. Keep in mind this is my DD.

**Car has a full warranty still and just turned 30K miles.**

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks guys!

Keep. Adding mods adds interest.

Even though I think it sucks, I think you should sell it. Once all the mods are done chances are you will still want a different car. A lot of people go through the stage of going from car to car, and it's not cheap to do. lol.

But, if you think you will be satisfied with the car once it's modded up(down), then you should definitely keep it. 30k is barely anything for an Acura.

Even if you mod it, you'll still get bored with it eventually. I say sell it now.

If you get bored easily then there is no use spending money on a car that you are going to eventually sell anyway. Go through the stages of buying and selling your cars while you can afford to do it.

It sounds like you want to sell it.

What car would you like to replace it was?

I really need to but when certain ideas pop into my head...it's hard not to pull the trigger.

Nope, 5AT.

If I did sell it, I would probably end up with a 99-04 Roush.

Start leasing if you get bored so quickly. I go through a lot of vehicles too, Modded every single one. Not modding the TL-S as much as I lose way too much money on vehicles.

Practicality says keep it despite your boredom. Any new car that's exciting will become old and routine as well (assuming it's not a supercar). Over the course of time, you can spend quite a bit in cars that could be saved for your retirement (I don't know how old you are or how close to retirement, but the earlier you start saving, the faster you can get out of debt, retire, and live well without having to worry as much about where your next dollar is coming from). In general, my advice is bad for the car companies but good for you as an individual. I'm not a big fan of leasing as you're always making a car payment despite getting a new car every few years (you never get to enjoy a car payment free interval).

Keep it. It looks like you have plenty of other cars that should prevent you from being bored

With all the other vehicles you have, just sell it and not buy anything more.

Sell it, it's a hit & miss with this generation. You may face tranny problems the road or you may not.

Well guys...I think I've decided to keep it!

I'm not gonna sink a whole ton of money into as I have with my other vehicles (built motors, turbos, etc.). I plan on doing the usual things and keeping it clean as a priority.

The list will start with:

-Tein Basis or BC Racing Coilovers
-Ingall Camber Kit and Adjustable Ball Joints
-Wheels (with offset and tires to match coilovers/summer setup)
-Aspec Lip Kit
-ATLP Roof Spoiler
-OEM Window Visors
-Exhaust
-Tinted Windshield
-Intake

Starting to save now...

The cars still under full warranty for over a year. At that point I'll consider extending the warranty or risking it.
