Just Watched My Car Get Pounded!!! (Philly)

Anybody else in Philly just get all that hail? I just watched the largest hail that I've ever seen pretty much being thrown out of the sky like fastballs.
I know some people in the midwest get golfball size hail occasionally but I've lived in Philly all my life and have never seen hail like this before.

All I could do was stand in my front door and watch it pelting my car for a good 10 minutes, now its pouring like hell out, as soon as it slows down Im gonna go out and see if there was any damage.

been through plenty of hail storms in mid missouri. it hails here at least 10 times a year if not more, sometimes its big enough to damage and other times its pea size which doesn't do anything.

hail damage is pretty easy to get taken care of, PDR is the best way to go. just contact your insurance and set something up with the adjuster and then get your check and find a PDR guy that does a good job

Ouch! Hail can be pretty nasty, its a good thing a chunk didn't get you on the head and knock you out. If you have any damage, Paintless Dent Repair will work very well.

I'm in western Missouri (Kansas City) and I can vouch for what Evo is saying. Thanks goodness I've got a garage!

We just got 3-4" of freakin' snow here yesterday-all, while I was on the air and continuing through the early evening. It's so frustrating-it's Spring already!

Once I heard the rain turn from "splash splash" to "THUD THUD", I ran out to my car to see what I could do. I watched my less-than-a-year-old TL get pounded, and for a second, I considered jumping across the hood to protect it. I went back inside after getting a good smack in the back by one piece of hail.

I'm going to inspect for damage in daylight tomorrow.

Over the summer we had alot of bad thunderstorms which included hail. I have never seen hail the size of golfballs before or even the sky grren in color while it was happening. I wanted to run outside and bring my car in the garage. After about 10 minutes it stopped and to my relief there was no damage.

I am in NE philly and I was caught on I-95 when it started. That was the first time in my life I had to pull over (everyone else did too) because I couldn't see. No damage thankfully.

Back in the 90's when I lived in Chester County near Phoenixville, I can remember one Memorial Day getting hail the size of baseballs. Did over $2000 damage (body shop estimates) to our two cars parked outside. Fortunately we were able to do PDR's on each one lowering the cost. But yes, hail is a nasty thing.

We had a pretty bad hail storm here in Austin last Wed afternoon. Luckily it was after I get home from work so my TL was safe in the garage but those who were still at the office weren't so lucky. Lots of broken windows and dents. The hail was golf ball to an occasional baseball size.

I just made it in the house before it started... but I couldn't bring my car in with me (apartment living FTL). I went out today and I have two smalls dents on the fender. I'm not to bummed out, it could've been worse.

Good to hear no one's cars got damaged significantly. I am glad I wasn't visiting my dad in NE Philly this weekend...luckily I didn't get any storms...some dark clouds, but that's about it.

I got hit by the hail!
Of course the week I bring my car out of the garage at home to my school apt. hail comes along...I ran outside as soon as it ended..looking at it so far luckily there are no dings or dents.
I'll do a more thorough inspection this weekend when I take it back home.

^ That's when an insurance adjuster looks outside and sees his workweek switch from 20 hours to 80 hours.
