Just wanted to say hi

Hello all

Just bought a new 05 NBP/EB TL yesterday. I have been lurking and reading the forums for a few weeks but finally took the dive and bought my first new car.

I have attached a few pictures from today. I spend a few hours cleaning her up real nice. Let me know what you think... I got good deal on her so i have some extra cash laying around... What are some real good mods that you guys suggest 2k-4k?

~Thanks
TGE

PS I need a good person who knows how to tint around either Clemson SC or Jacksonville FL any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum!

Car looks great!! Which wheels are those? Silver Sparkle? Hyper Black? I love the look! I'm still trying to decide if I want Acura wheels or another brand.

I know you just got the car, but do you have any mods planned?

aha...welcome..and congratz on an amazing car!

this is my favorite part about a car...the modding. if you have around 3K to spend....then id recommend a few things.

HANDLING:
Springs or Coilovers, Eibach/Tein or A-spec...many people rave about the a-spec...i am personally in the process of getting TEIN S. Techs....and from what ive heard the EIBACH PRO KIT is really good. $200-$600

to mix with the handling and look to accent those beautiful A-Spec wheels...you should get a Comptech Rear Sway bar. every person on this forum that has purchased and installed it said that it was worth every single penny. that is next on my list. $115

Depending on which springs you get you might want to get a Camber kit, ive heard the Comptech Rear camber kit to prevent camber wear is good. but i don't know that much about Camber's and such so we shall move onnn...i believe itll cost u around... $100

PERFORMANCE:
Then....off to get an Intake to improve the beastie sound for ur nice V6 Engine. There are a few Intakes out there, Injen, AEM, K&N...i personallyy have a fetish for AEM Intake, ive heard it, i love it....bigger tubing is always better sounding IMO. the K&N i havn't heard complains and the Injen people praise. but ive heard only good things about the AEM's sound and gains.... $180-$300

next....time to get a new exhaust system. there are a few things you can do. you can get the Comptech Exhaust which is $1,025 w/out install. many people say they love it, but its a bit pricey for my taste. Then you can get a semi-custom magnaflow exhaust, buy the muffler and get the custom y-piping that is neccessary and you are in. this can range from $450-$1,025

People have shown dynos that have shown gains of nearly 35 HP from EXHAUST and INTAKE working together...soooo seems like quite an investment to me.

STYLING:
you already have the wheels....so we'll leave that alone.

a body kit is something that can be implimented....there isn't that much out there, you have the RON JON KIT which i love, makes the car look extremely aggressive looking a little too expensive, i think its around $2,000 a little more a little less maybe. but thats ball park figures. you can look it up on RonJonWheels.com. then you have the A-Spec kit which is around $800..less if u find a good deal. i love the A-spec kit i have it and don't regret getting it at all. then you can go custom for your own special taste but i don't think youll flow to that direction. $800-$2,000+

Window tinting is a must...depending on the laws of where you live....i have 35% all the way around..and love it, great investment. it just makes the car more stealth looking. depending on where u live prices vary. $100-$300

a Spoiler would be a good idea as well. on ebay they sell the Factory OEM spoilers the LIP and the Wingspoiler for cheaper than u would get a dealer. as well as they have the infamous M3 lip that turns up every now and then. i personally have the wingspoiler and i love it because it gives it a nice sporty look. $200-$600

immm doneeeeeee...hope this helps

Here are some things to search for:

aem cold air intake

springs such as eibach pro or tein for lowering (might need shocks too to handle the new springs)

comptech rear sway bar to improve handling

wheels - ronjon is popular around here and quite cool

getting headlights cleared (orange part removed and resealed)

rockblocker colored or smoked films for lights and signals

blue led lights from ebay, tech toyz etc

tints

Those are some of the things many people like to do to the car. I'm sure people will add to it.

Welcome to the forum... Nice car, I would suggest lowering the car a little bit with either springs or coilovers, get the comptech rear sway bar, definatly get a intake for the car, you can get the comptech exhaust or do a custom one... maybe some wheels.

thanks for all the welcomes... i did a search for an intake but did not get many good results as to a good vendor.. suggestions? I have a K&N on my G and would like to stick with a company I am familiar with.

also... do any of you have dogs that you let ride in the car? can you suggest something other than a blanket that maybe i can get to put over the rear seat so i dont have to worry about my pup screwing up the leather...

PS. I just got finished ordering the blue LED package... i am excited as to how it might turn out.

the BLUE LED's will turn out great...the really open up a new look to the car and accent the blue thats already in the car...as for finding a vendor....K&N is at the top for Intakes...but i would strongly recommend AEM, its less expensive and you get a better sound out of it. but if your looking for cheaper K&N then EBAY will most likely have what ur looking for...or u can try FROOGLE.com
