You could get a "goodwill" repair.

Have you had your vehicle in for this specific matter? I think you'd have a very strong case if you had some "history" of documentation for this.

Give it a shot. It states an "Out of Warranty" stipulation too.

"Out of warranty: Any repair performed after warranty
expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by
the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone
Office. You must request consideration, and get a
decision, before starting work."
