Just totaled my 05 TL

Hey guys i just totaled my 05 non navi 6speed NBP with ebony interior, it only had 6k miles, fortunatetly I am ok thanks to the 9 airbags I have. I always thought i made a mistake by not getting the navi system. My question is what kind of sweet deals are you getting from dealerships on prices, Excellet credit, what kind of interest rate? great deals on navi out the door prices...... for the 06 model... Looking at buying one this weekend because they have 1 on their lot that is 6 speed with navi and its NBP with ebony.

Glad your ok, anything below 4.9% is acceptable. Goodluck on your car hunting.

OTD prices vary depending on the taxes of where you live. Work from a base price somewhere in the 32,xxx range for the 06 NAV model. Mine was 32,800

no that was my base price. OTD price is meaningless to others unless they are in the same state....

Well the only reaason why I am chill is because i am on alot of pain medications. I have a neck brace on. I am actuallly happy the car got totalled and is not fixable so my insurrance company can pay me in full for a brand new one. I put $16,000 down. Once a car is wrecked and it is fixed the car never seems to ride the same. Sucks though because I just had put some ron jon inspyres on it 2 weeks ago which costed me about $2900 with tires. I saved the receipts and I am going to show the insurance company.

As far as the accident goes i was on a 2 way street a drunk person veered into my lane going about 50, i swerved off the side of the road to avoid a head on collision, but i did not see the tree that was in front of me.

Glad to see you are getting around, things could've been much worse, so you are lucky.

Not sure about the wheels though, my experience is the insurance folks will only reimburse up to stock wheel cost. Could be different laws in different states.

Glan you did not get killed.
Maybe think about a light color car, people just do not see dark colored cars, sober or not.
Anyone who gets a dark color car is asking for it.
I once had a black car, 3 bad accidents in 2 years, white cars before and after that, for a total of 27 years of white cars with NO accidents.

I pay attention to the MANY accidents I see, I drive in work, in a bad area, and 95% of all the accidents I see involve at least 1 dark color car.
I have never seen two white cars crash...at least not yet.

I have backed into 2 cars over the years, both were dark blue or black.

Ouch! Glad to hear that you are going to recover. However most insurance comapnies typically do not insure "non-standard" items on a car unless they are covered on a separate schedule so recouping the cost of the Inspires may not happen. Just like those kids that throw $4K into a stereo and then have it stolen, expensive wheels are typically classified as non-standard and therefore not covered. Good luck getting the bucks for those.

In Southern CA, I bought my 06 Navi Auto TL for a little over $31,400 (Inc. Dest). The OTD price was a little over $34,700.
Unfortunately last Friday some girl rear ended me and now the bumper needs to be replaced. But that is nothing compared to what happened to you.

Did the drunk driver get caught?

How do you know it was a drunk driver? Are you assuming they were drunk? There are some really crappy non drunk drivers out there too. For example, women.... ....j/k

I nearly totaled my 05 in December. I just got it back today after 2 months. It cost almost 19k to fix, which means it should have been totaled, but they kept finding things as it progressed - very, very irritating.

I will give the body shop credit, it looks amazing. The doors shut with same thud they always had and it drives fine. Only problem I noticed was that the brakes aren't right; they have a pulse in them like the rotors need to be resurfaced. I am going to take it back and have them fixed.

I had my winter tires and rims on when the accident happened. I got the rims from The Tire Rack. One was badly damaged and they are out of production. Allstate would only give me replacement value for an OEM rim. I had the dealer put my summer tires on since it’s the end of winter. I have to decide if I am going to keep it or buy a new car. I put 15k down when I bought it and estimate that I would only get half that back if I traded - OUCH.

The person that was driving behind him noticed he was driving out of control before i wrecked. So she had already callled the police officer on her cell phone before the accident and gave the license plate to them. Yea i guess I have 6 airbags instead of 9, just knew i had alot.... heck I remember when 2 airbags was an option and it was like a 1000 bucks if you wanted it.

I am still working out the deals with the insurance company. See the great things with insurance companies is they are not allowed to ask what you paid for the car, they just look at some book and tally up a price. So if you get one heck of a deal on you car you can actually make a extra thousand or 2. THats where I am at right now so i willl get reimbursed on my wheels.
