Just test drove 2007 Camry SE
I am a 2005 Acura TL owner and just test drove 2007 Toyota Camry SE V6 Auto 6 speed Automatic with "sport shift". Wow, what a car! Tight, quiet, no rattles, squeaks, or driveline noises. The power & torque are amazing, and the ride & handling blow away the TL. The car is awsome looking (black/black leather) for 27K fully loaded with everything the TL has plus an awsome JBL 8 speaker sound system.
For all you TL owners who are dissatisfied with your car, give this one a serious look!

Just wait for what Acura is looking at for 2007, Don't disgrace this forum with talk of camrys. I cant believe that someone would actually say things like this about a camry vs a TL. Regardless of what a camry has. I dont care if it has 400 hp and its all wheel drive and runs 4 second 0-60s there is no way you would catch me in a toyota. I dont recall them pioneering variable vavle timing, all aluminum frames, occupancy detection systems or satellite navigation. So yes your 07 camry might be cool but i garuntee you that for 2007 there will be some things coming out of marysville ohio that might make you think twice about buying a stupid toyota.

This kind of post (filled with spelling and grammar errors and fanboy bias) is exactly the type of post that degrades internet forums. The TL is a very nice, very good car - but so is the Toyota Camry. Looks are subjective. It's fine if you don't like the way the new Camry looks, and it's fine to voice that opinion. But slaughtering the English language whilst bashing one of the best built, most successful cars on the road just makes you and Acurazine as a community look like a bunch of half-wits.
To address the topic of the thread, though, it is good to hear that Toyota has finally injected some soul into the Camry.

by the way do you know what a camry is worth in a year??? we just had someone try to trade one in. KBB trade in which is higher than most people will get is 11k. Too bad this poor sucker paid almost 21 for it. Thats nice of toyota isnt I would love to come into that kind of negative equity in less than a year.

I think that Toyota was trying to appeal to a different market with the new Camry than Honda was with the TL. Also, keep in mind that the new Camry is being released 3 (or 4?) years after the current generation TL; car makers are always improving their vehicles, so it is inevitable that a major manufacturer like Toyota would be able to top Honda's 3-year-old offering which is the TL.
Having said that, I would still rather own my TL because of its sexy exterior and appealing interior.

If you like toyotas so much then get one and then join the toyota forum. I understand where you are coming from but I dont subscribe to this forum so I can deal with people who love Camrys. Plus I probably know more about what Acura is going to do within the next few years than you do. So yes I'm sure the camry is nice but there are some secrets that will soon surface that will make everyones early released 07 camry seem very very tame.

I'm sorry but who are you? What are you talking about. It seems like you are trying to pic a fight on a forum. I'm not really allowed to discuss what Acura has planned but I will tell you this. Its going to be better than any camry and I really like the fact that Toyota released their 2007 line up in march of 06. That always makes your car more valuable when its been out for almost 2 years when the model year end closes. Regardless I'm in the car business and I see what toyota camrys are worth after a year and its sad. Very very sad. So if you like situations where your car has flooded the market and can be found on every corner because of the lack of demand and the over abundance of supply then yes get a camry, but dont come to me complaining when you have 10k of negative equity to hide in a new TL because it happens all day and it keeps me from making deals sometimes. Look up the trade in value on www.KBB.com for an 05 TL and an 05 camry with similar miles in similar condition because if you look at the retail value on those cars and then you will be very dissapointed with toyota.

i must say this is the best looking camry they ever made even though it still looks like a avalon/gs430. U cant really compare the camry to the TL because the TL sporty. It also have 3.5 liter 268-hp V6

I'm sure at 22, you are the guru we should all hire as a consultant when it is time for us to buy new cars. The fact you believe that the measure of a car is in the resale value (not to mention comparing a TL to a Camry in resale when they are in entirely different classes) tells me all I need to know. I was merely trying to keep this thread fairly balanced. Whether a Camry is your dream car or a car you would never own thinking that there is anything inherently wrong with it is foolish.

Look at the retail value for a 2004 TL on KBB which is the lowest of car book values with lets say average miles of maybe somewhere close to 24-30k miles. The value of the car for 12-30 months has already been determined.

Well at my dealership we are usually somewhere between BLUE BOOK and and BLACK BOOK. I've never heard of galves but typically KBB is the lowest between the most popular 3 which are NADA EDMUNDS and KBB. Regardless a TL holds its value better and is over all a better car. Currently you are comparing the 2007 camry to a model from acura that has been around since 2004. Sure its had some problems but do toyota dealerships offer pick up and delivery loaner service? So yes your acura Might have some problems but Im sure toyotas aren't perfect either. My family has owned both and we have had much fewer problems with our Acuras than we have had with our toyotas. I'm not saying that Toyota is a bad car and im sure that the 2007 model that has already been released for some weird reason is really really nice, but the 2007 acura Line will be much much nicer. So don't go out buying a camry when you havent seen what Acura will launch for 2007. Toyota may get a jumpstart and you guys can go get your camrys and start a little camry forum, but I work for Acura for a reason. I believe in the brand, I believe in the innovation that toyota has followed hence VVTL-I, and I believe in the luxury and service of a high end car with reasonable price. Stop blowing a bunch of hot air at me about how I'm 22 and Im probably Immature because at the dealership I work at I am a highly respected individual and I have a very important job. I go up against LEXUS everyday, but I garuntee you I will convince you of why you should buy an Acura instead because I havent lost a deal to lexus yet. Toyota is no comparison. If someone wants a toyota its because they can't afford the Acura they want in the same class.

the 96 acura RL was the first car in north america to have an occupancy detection system for the passenger side airbag. It was also the first car in north america to have a satellite linked navigation system. the 2004 Acura TL was the first car to have DVD audio and Bluetooh handsfree link. the 91 NSX was the first car in production to have an all aluminum frame and variable valve timing was first released in 1992 by honda. If you would like please post some examples of the things toyota pioneered?? and what does BWAHAHAHAH mean?
