Just put down a down payment for my new 07 Type S ....good deal or not?
I just put down a $2500 down payment for a $435/month lease on a Kinetic Blue Type S which is being located and shipped in from another state. Good deal or bad? I traded in my 03 Type S with 102K miles and $8700 payoff and pretty much got nothing for it which I found to be acceptable considering the high miles and it had a small (2"x3") dent on the hood (very minor but there) but good condition other wise. The KBB was 8900 on fair condition. I really started out aggressive and low balled them trying to get the Type S with the national special rate of the base model ($369/mo 2K down). They said absolutely not due to a 4K difference in price so we met at my final values above. After my experience I concluded that it was definitely worth starting off aggressive but the mistake I made was to tell them I had a trade in off the bat. I probably could have gotten a few more bucks there.
I must say that I did get extremely aggitated at one point amd almost walked out. This was due more to the unprofessionalism that I experienced while waiting and listening to the conversation the other sales reps were having. They were discussing out loud and almost making fun of a customer who had come in just prior to me who low balled them on an Acura RL deal. I can understand them being frustrated with the customer for being unreasonable but they went too far by actually mocking him and discussing his profession and salary out loud. They had no respect for customer confidentiality and I assumed they could easily to it to me. I almost wanted to complain to the manager and let him know I would not purchase any car from a dealership that allows their employees behave this way.

This deal was at Bridgewater Acura. The price listed above is all inclusive and includes the first month's payment. It's a 3 year lease w/ 10K allowed but I plan to buy the car at the end regardless because the high resale value of this car.

It's a bad idea really to put a down payment or any money out of pocket on a lease. That's kind of steep to put donw on a lease though. Also, you should have negotiated on a higher mileage allowance; 12K is the norm nowadays. From the way you're telling your story it seems that the salesman was in control AND had the upper hand. Have you tried shopping and doing all your negotiations through the internet dept at that dealership?
What was the money factor they gave you and the residual?

Honestly I think you're right, at some point I let the dealer get the upperhand and it makes me want to reconsider everything. My residual according to the salesman would come out to 22,900. Now I haven't signed anything except the privacy disclosure and that I am putting down $2500. The car is being located and the dealer told me that he can't tell me the final price that the car was agreed upon. Can I pull out of the deal if I haven't signed off on the car yet? Or even renogiate my deal or am I stuck now that I put down a down payment?

If you buy the car at the end of three years (assuming the residual is the same as the payoff - I'm not up on leasing terms) you will have paid a total of $41,060 for the car.
Not knowing your location or the exact trems of what you signed, I can't say for sure, but you might be stuck forking over the $2,500.
