Just pulled the trigger on an 06 TL

Well, I did it.

I was going to wait for the 2007 TL to come out, but after test driving the 2006 TL, and working some really nice numbers, I took the plunge, and bought an Alabaster Silver 2006 TL 5AT with Navi.

I just want to thank everyone on this forum, because the site really helped me alot in making my decision on this car. I started looking for a new car about six months ago, and researched every car I could think of, before I settled on an Acura.

Initially, it was going to be a TSX, but after driving the TSX, and then the TL, I decided that the TL was the better choice long term. I'm fresh out of college, and this will be my car for a long time (at least, that's my intent, God willing).

I'm a little bit sad that I traded in my previous car, which was a 1999 BMW 328i that I bought used, for a very good price. It was my first (and last) used car. I cannot say how irritated I became with that car, servicing it, shelling out money to pay for repair after repair after repair...

I'll miss the RWD, and the rain sensing windshield wipers, but those aren't enough to make me regret parting with it. Thank goodness, I finally have a warranty again!

Having just drove my new TL home today, I'm still in that strange dreamlike state that one tends to enter after something so new and awesome changes in life, so, I guess the next logical thing to do from this point is let reality settle in, and of course wash and wax my new baby!

Again, thank you to everyone on the forum. As a noob to this forum, I apologize in advance if I ask any dumb questions in the future. I'm transitioning from e46fanatics.com, so I do know the drill on posting politely (searching before posting and whatnot) but I just wanted to comment on how impressed I am with this forum. Everyone that I've seen and read from on the forum seems to be very considerate and helpful, and I look forward to becoming a regular here.

Here's a picture of me crossing the line between my two cars. Bye BMW. You were a pain in the a-- but for some reason, I'll miss you...a little.

I knew we was brotha's!

I'm picking up my 2006 TL w/Navi AT NBP/Parchment on Saturday. I started out testing out every car in the category and just to compare other user forums and by far this ZINE is the best with most information. It really nudged me towards the TL even more.

So, I'm completely PSYCHED for a new car. I just bought a new house so it's a double whammy for my pocketbook but I'm sure it'll be worth it. After driving a Pathfinder for 5 years I'm looking forward to the comforts of a sedan, 21st Centruy refinements like Navigation and Bluetooth and little kick under the hood.

Thanks everyone for helping me make a decision. I'll post the pics after I pick up the car and the my hands stop shaking from all the excitement.

congrats!!

Being an ex-german owner myself (Audi A4) I can totally relate to your endless maintenance/repair bills. But at the same time I can understand why you miss your german car too.

Welcome!
