Just got a TL--what should I do to it ?
Hey just got a TL and I'm new to this.
I'm looking to plastic dip the rims black and tint the window black what do ya think? Any other simple stuff I can do to make it look more aggressive ?
Also how do I add photos ?
Thanks

Tinted windows look great on the TL, I'm tinting mine tomorrow.
I'm not a fan of plastidipped rims. I've helped dipped a few and never liked the end product compared to the original factory rims.

Are you talking about those fog lights below the headlights? Those don't seem to be a factory addition, so there's gotta be a separate switch in the car to turn them on somewhere.
Also didn't know that Acura made gold-plated badges, interesting.
I think your first "mod" should be buying a headlight restoration kit and get to work on those fogged up lights. Your car will look 10x better with a clearer set of headlights

rofl paperboy.....switched them fog lights out and go for 07-08 fogs by switching the front bumper or go for inspire fogs. Always hated those flat fogs

I almost did this once, buddy gave me some SOHC stickers that look like the factory stickers.
OP if you dip the rims I would highly recommend glossing them. It gives it a clean and sharp appearance over the cheap matte looking color of regular dip.
AND
Ditch those sorry excuses for fog/(running?) lights

Take off that rear tow hook and the fog lights
Tint the windows and look into getting the A-Spec lip kit from one of our vendors. It changes the whole look of the car!

I think the fogs are closest to the grill in assembly. I can't remember now, my 08 has dedicated down in the bumper. But pls, what everyone else said, take those aftermarket fogs lights off!

What's with the tow hook? You expecting it to break down a lot?

Same here. My 10 sec car doesnt use one. My 8 sec car I'm in the process of buying doesn't have one. I'm wondering what a 15 sec TL that will never see the track is doing with one lol. All kidding and sarcasm aside, I really would like to know why people do this. Is it to convince people it's a race car that has to use a tow vehicle at the track yet miraculously can drive on the street or is it for the looks of a hook sticking out from your bumper? Am I missing something?

I have not read any of the responses and I am sure I am just beating a dead horse by now....
but my constructive criticism would be
1. Ditch the tow hook... dont even think about putting it back on. Dont listened to disturbed. No amount of street cred give you the right to rock a tow hook unless becauseracecar.
2. Ditch the LEDs on the front. They look tacky. If you want some fogs or something along those lines do the (i believe) aspec swap Ive seen TL guys do. Looks great.
3. Ditch the gold emblem(s). They look odd against the chrome.
If you black out ALL the chrome the gold will look a little better. You choice there.
From there you have a really sweet platform to start modding from.
Id look into clearing out your headlights so they dont look so hazy.
Then some springs or coilovers.
Then wheels. Maybe a rear window visor. Front lip, deck lid spoiler. Interior Im sure can use some touch ups. etc etc

It's so contradictory to have a car driving down the street with a tow hook. My new car has a chute and while it will be removed 99% of the time since it's a street car, I'm thinking of removing the mount as well so no one will know the car runs a chute at the track. Some of us try and hide things that might give away how quick the car is and some add things to make a very slow car look fast to the average 16yr old.
Why not mount a parachute to a TL if you're using a tow hook? It's literally the same except the parachute doesn't contradict it's existence on the street. Not only that, any car that's so crazy that it requires a tow hook will require a chute too (what is it, 160-ish in the 1/4?).
I hope the new owner does not go this direction. The only ones you'll impress are in the 10-16yr old range and that's only a small group in that age range.
