Just got an 08 TL-S, 6MT, a couple of questions..
First off, I love the ride. This is my second Acura. Used to have a TSX a while back. In the meantime, my father has a TL. I couldn't resist getting my own, 6MT, type S..
Every Acura comes with XM. Is there a quick and clean way of installing a Sirius receiver? Much obliged if anyone has info on this, or would like to perform the hack itself (Middlesex area).
Mleage.. Anyone with a TL-S, 6MT willing to post real-world numbers? I'm curious as to what to expect.
Type-S brochure.. Would anyone have a link or the PDF of the official brochure? I can't seem to find one anywhere on the net.
The sound system.. Yep, as weak as my father's TL. I read a couple of years ago, where owners complained. I thought it would be fixed by now. Bummer. But, I already have two powered 12" subs that will do very nicely in the trunk. Will post impressions and images when installed.
Tint.. Coming in a couple of weeks. Metallicized, 20-30% all over (except windshield).
LEDs.. Coming as well. Oh - I'd love to LED the turn signals in the rear lights. I know the break lights are LED, but turn-signals are not. Will do some homework which bulbs fit best.
Thanks everyone.

Hey GINTER,
Congrats on your new purchase! I don't have any idea about the Sirius receiver (you might want to post that question in the: Audio, Bluetooth, Electronics & Navigation section). Here's the link to that section: https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-articles-2/
I'm glad to see you went with the 6MT! What color did you buy, btw? Also, post some pics!

This is a link to the '08 TL "fact sheet" on the website: http://www.acura.com/content/FactSheet/TL_factsheet.pdf
You can't download the entire brochure in PDF (from what I can tell) but you can order one online from the TL website.
Been driving my '07 TL-S 6MT since April, and have consistantly gotten 24-29 MPG in mixed driving but mostly suburban street driving, with a lot of long red lights to idle through (the biggest drain on my MPG). Rarely less than that, but once in a while a bit higher. However you should note my age, and the fact that I'm usually pretty conservative driving around town...too many police around the burbs to play without getting caught. I have nowhere to drive WOT without getting busted so I just don't.
Lots of luck with your new vehicle, great choice! Hope you enjoy it as much as I love mine. ONLY negative comment worth mentioning, is this thing sux in snow but I've gotten used to it and adjusted my driving to accomodate.

I've been driving stick since my first car (90' Talon TSI). And I'm "done" driving fast on the freeway. I maxed out my 06 M45 Sport to 155 MPH (hit the governor). I think that's plenty on public roads. Yes, yes, I know how irresponsible that was. I've learned from the experience, and won't do it again.
Thanks for mentioning snow - since it's supposed to come down fairly hard tomorrow in the North-East (3-6 inches, Metro area). I'll have to take it easy on the I95. I did get the all-season tires, and not the sport ones. I should be ok..
One more thing I'd like to find out is whether anyone has applied a skin to their NAV screen..? I'm about to buy one, as the one I got for my iPhone is absolutely fabulous. It's the same stuff they put on helicopter blades. (http://www.bestskinsever.com/servlet/StoreFront)
Essentially (I think), it's the same material as the Clear Bra. Resists chips, dings, even scratches (like a key).
Thanks again to everyone that replied. I'm loving this ride.

You'll have to wait for the DEI HON-SC1 to ship for the Sirius integration.
The only other way to do it is to add an aux adapter and have the Sirius display mounted remotely. IMHO, I would wait.
It was supposed to start shipping last year, then in Jan, now no one knows.....
