Id like to thank everyone for their advice/opinions on these 2 choices. I decided im going to just go for the black with clear lenses because 1) As mentioned the blacked out looks too much like people putting film over it. and 2) The clear reflectors offer much more safety at night, and since this is my daily driver ( i already have 43000 miles in a little less than 11 months), thats a main concern.

Ill be sure to keep you guys posted on how it comes out and many pics after its completed

anyways. if you wanted to get a good look at the contrast, search some of my old threads. i had blacked out headlights w/ blacked out tailights and it looks fcking sexy as hell on NBP !!

i think the clear would look OK.... if anything, search threads by... i think TL-773 ?? he made a smoked gray taillight. that would look sexy too...

clear is really hard, the guy who made them put ALOT of effort into it and it seems way too hard for even me (a HUGE DIYer)

now.. if you cracked open then lense, painted the reds black, and put the clear lense back on.. THAT would be amazing.. either way, cant wait to see

btw.. your car is progressing nicely... if you blacked your tail's it would look alot like mine

Yea i know thats alotttttttaaa miles. Ive been to SC with it 3 times already, and its my daily driver where my school is 25 mins from my house, and my work is 45 mins away from my house in the opposite direction of my school. and then when i goto the city on the weekends that about another 1.25 hrs from my house in a totally different direction. AND.. those are all highway times.

Yea ive always liked Blackura. It was done up really nice. Im going to try the DIY, I figured if I mess up and it doesnt come out as planned, its maximum $100 down the drain, which isnt tooo bad for a risky mod like this.

Thanks for the compliments on my car, Its because of all the AZiners on this forum that have inspired me to keep modding, or I would have been done at just a system lol.

I voted for black/clear because i Hate when i can't see tail lights. I'm colorblind and it's harder for me to see the differences in lights. So for safety, and a really cool look, i would go with black/clear.

I like them both. If I hadn't seen them, I would have said all black def.
It's a lot of work to clear them and just hide it though. I say put on the clear ones. When you get tired of that and want a change, THEN tint them.

Sheeeyyiiitttt! Clear can't touch those!! I don't wanna look pretty, I wanna look stealth! This is a car not a bicycle!! People with Rockblocker or whatever tint don't have a lot of rear crashes due to visibility right? Gimme da stealth!

I think since it is 50/50 you should decide based on what you plan on doing with the rest of the car.

If you are going to go all stealth look the all black for sure.

If you are going to be going for a more flashy style go with black/white.

I voted for black/white and think that with that in mind you could do a lot more things for the look of your car then if you just went all black. If you go all black then your gonna have to just go for the stealth look all around.

yo Sunny, thanks for posting this link. Def helps out with what I wanna do. I know the feeling of getting 43K in less than a year, thats me but then i decided to buy a beater and now i got 50k in 16 months. haha.

I think with my NBP imma do what Elkayem did. Elkayem. So you cleared and then put film on it?

What im thinkin about doing is getting an 07 TL-P black it out, so as to paint the chrome black, and remove the reflector on the turn signal and paint that black as well.

Elkayem Everyone is complaining about visibility with the clear and tint on. Can you post a pic of how it actually looks with the lights on?

black w/ clear was a good choice IMO...otherwise you'll look too similar to every other TL out there with the whole red section tinted black...besides i think it flows better with the clear reverse lights that you still have.
