When I took my 08 TL-S into the dealer for the A-Spec kit to be put on, they gave me a 2008 TL base. I never drove the base TL until that point, man........what a different car!! I never thought there was really that much differnce between the 2 models.
The TL-S has a totally "different" personality........for sure.

I'm in my 30s now, but always thought it was BS that I had to pay extra for rentals when I was under 25 and couldn't even get a rental when I was under 21. I was more than willing to show them proof of my insurance, which covers the driver BTW, and yet if I wasn't the right age, I got the shaft.

Now that I don't have rental problems, the stealership won't even give out loaners/rentals unless the car needs more than 2 hours of service. I probably should've tried to negotiate something in my contract when I bought the car, but forgot as I was coming from BMW and they took care of everything. The first time I took the car in I asked for a loaner and they told me their policy. I asked how I was to get to work and they said it'll be done in an hour and they've got wi-fi in the waiting area. Too bad I didn't have my laptop since it took them 2 hours, not the 1 they claimed. What bunch of crap. Needless to say, I don't go there for service anymore.

A perfect reason why single males under 25 have the highest insurance rates and why there are limits for rentals due to age:
young guys doing what young guys have done for decades

It hasn't changed for years and probably will never change...and the responsible ones pay for the others' poor decisions....

I got stuck with a TSX when I brought my TL in for safety recall related issues. I was a little dissapointed that I was given a lower class model car than what I had purchased. To top it off They washed, but did not vacuum my car after the service. I made sure to note that on the survey, and I put a call into the service manager. He assured me that it would not happen again. I guess we will see next time.......

Here in toronto you gotta book your loaner far ahead of time (I am usually waiting on my car's service cuz the loaner booking is couple days later !)

Any who, you book, and the 3 times I've gotten a loaner its been a Acura CSX!

I'm sure you guys down south don't know about the CSX but its essentially the new civic re badged for Acura with a few standard options that hint it towards luxary.

Its exclusive for Canada as the civic and the csx is made in Aliston, ON (I actually went on a tour of the plant and the process of building a Civic, mind blowing experience!)

So ya, we give an RDX, we get a lil CSX! (although the car is peppy, im big and I find my self quite cramped)

I've had my 04' TL in several times for warranty work and have gotten
1-TSX non navi
1-TSX navi
1-RDX navi
we'll see what I get on Thursday this week.

The dealership will meet me half way to pick up my car as well. (we both drive 45 minutes). Boyeland Acura of Appleton, WI has been great (other than a couple scratches from washing-I decline the wash now). Made an appointment today for the recall(s) and they will have a loaner for me. Also very good about working with me on returning the loaner if I can't get away from work for some reason. Don Graven is the service manager, he is a great guy that actually cares about his customers. I have given him plenty of chances to hate me. He has personally fixed rattles that I didn't even complain about (I didn't even hear two of them) I would buy from them if I was going to buy new.

all right. all you 21 and under TL drivers...this is the reason why your dealership won't give you a loaner.

service gives you a loaner out of their own pocket. some make you fill the gas back up to the position it was prior to your rental.

i have no sympathy whatsoever if you go in for service and aren't given a loaner.

plan ahead.

Hmm, i'm well old enough for a loaner and they gave me a rental: Chevy Cobalt

Course it they say it was something to do with my car being in the shop for over a week. Anyhow, I paid extra to check out the Chrysler 300m (this was about 1.5 years ago and it just came out). Was not impressed with that car at all.

I need to take mine in again soon, having problems with steering while the car isnt in motion, wheel turn is stiff so the pump must be losing pressure. I'm not going to settle for a crap car this time though.

Wow, I've had good luck at that Dealership. I think, even at 21, if you can afford to buy a TL, they should not have thrown you into a beat up Honda after telling you that a braand new TSX would be your loaner.

But, they did supply a free loaner........
