Just bought my TL off the lease...

...because I still really like it. I had a lease for my TL (business write off), so I began looking at other cars months before the lease expired. I drove a bunch of new cars, but found the TL suited me more than a new 3-series, 5-series, Jag XF, G37, Lexus GS, etc.

No, I couldn't find a new 2008 TL-S, and no, I didn't consider the 2009 TL.

Nice...although a 550i is tempting.

And probably a lot more money than the TL buyout!

I'm thinking of doing the same thing when my 08 comes off lease in 2011. Were you able to negotiate a lower than stated buy-out price with your lienholder?

A lease on any other new car would have been much less money up front, though...

Unfortunately, no- Wells Fargo wasn't willing to budge, even though I was under the mileage allowance.

Now I need to go buy new tires and talk to the accountant about mid-year changes in business use deductions.

Check out Yokohama YK520's

A low profile tire with great grip, quiet ride, and best of all...a 520 treadware!

Congrats.. I just did the same... but my bank finally negotiated with me after playing hardball. They wanted 23k for mine, but I ended up getting it for a little over 19k @ 3.99% financing which was awesome for me because I was over mileage which I lied to them about.

After all said and done, with lease payments over the 3 years and by the time I'm done paying I will have paid $33xxx for the car. Which is what it would have cost me if I purchased it outright anyways in the beginning of 06.

Mine's an 06 w/ Nav btw.

$17,800 to bank.
Now I have to pay sales tax on that to get the bank off the title.

Thanks-- I'm inclined towards and pricing the Yokohama Advan S4 through Tire Rack, Discount Tire, etc.
The other choices were the BS Pole Position 960 A/S and Michelin Pilot PS2, but users of both had mentioned flat-spotting.
I'd actually prefer a quiet but sticky tire that wears at around 30K miles-- longer wearing tires, like the MXM4s, seem to harden @ 25K and not have as much traction thereafter.
But I drive like grandma anyway and haven't yet autocrossed the TL.
