Jack height for a front corner

Seems like everyone is saying 21" jack to get the rear off the ground but the front is lower - anyone know how much lower? I can't find a decent new floor jack locally or even on amazon without shelling out $250 but I need to do my front brake pads - my current jack's max height is only 14" but I'm hoping I can get by with it and a 2x4 this one time...

Have you tried lifting the car with your current jack to see if the wheels will clear the ground?

Personally, I have the Arcan XL35R purchased from my local Costco when they used to stock them.

Try your current jack, OP.

It won't get the wheels off the ground if you're using the central jack points. But you can just lift one wheel at a time so you don't need to buy a new jack.

Or....
Harbor Freight apparently has good jacks for around $100 to $139 for their deluxe low rider, high lift model. I have never owned a HF jack...but lots of people give them good reviews.

While I'm sitting at work it's easier to ask for info than to jack up the car

14" on the pinch weld just behind your wheel should be more than enough

This is the jack I have used for the past 3-4 years. Works great and can lift the front and rear off the ground from the central jack points.

I jack at the pinch weld and leave enough room to slide a jack stand in place
