I've been lucky, I guess. In 6 years of ownership, I've had a bad EGR valve and an airbag sensor go bad, both fixed under warranty. Other than that, a rattle from the pass. side that I haven't been able to find yet. This is with 76K miles at present. Zero other problems.

The seat memory thing is really bothering me. I am trying to find a position that won't bother my knee. Everyday I have to readjust the seat.

I'd like to listen to music without the rattle.

No HFL doesn't bother me.

I am not complaining. I am just noting the obvious.

denny, haven't seen you post in a while.

just some thoughts......

#1- mine was replaced under warranty, might be to late for that now though, huh

#2- Is there a fuse for this

#3- shave it.

#4- I ditched mine , so no idea

#5- have you changed your cabin filter?

#6- fixed under warranty is a good thing, its when things go bad after the warranty expires that sucks.

#10-you're lucky, I've had mine for a little over 6 years, and several of mine have gone out.

Lucky you!

In 95,000mi with my 2008 TL-S I've had to:

1. Replace the starter
2. Replace the driver-side half-shaft
3. Helicoil #3 spark plug

However, my HFL has worked quite well using 3 different phones.

When I had my '05 for 6 years, the only problems I had during the time of ownership was the HFL going out, the electrical issue, and the bulbs in my steering wheel going out which were all replaced under warranty. I also replaced both CV joints for the passenger and driver sides due to the clicking noise most 6MT owners experience.

I didn't have any rattles to contend with unlike my '07 now. And with my '07, I had both front seats' heater elements replaced under warranty and it's been pretty solid so far. *knocks on wood*

My 2004 6MT TL had 7 miles on the odometer when I purchased it on 12/10/2003, and it now has 126,000.
The HFL was DOA and had to be replaced but has been used almost daily since.
The passenger door window would not roll down at 41K – fixed under 100K warranty
Cruise Control on/off button had to be taped “on” so that it would stay selected at 70K – fixed under 100K warranty
Heater/AC fan motor went out at 105K

Most maintenance free vehicle I have ever owned.

I find that the things that have gone wrong with my Honda products pale in comparison with the problems my neighbor deals with on his Dodge and Chevy products. Nearly weekly I see him working on one of his vehicles on his driveway replacing a fuel pump, brake master cylinder, distributor, alternator or radiator. Suddenly the fact that my HCL (which I never use) says "Booting up" forever, doesn't seem to matter.

I've had my 05 TL 6MT for 6 years. 67k miles so far (I put 47k of them on it). Here is my story

After I bought it:
- Squealing Brembos (warrantied under TSB)
- 3rd gear synchro (warrantied under TSB)
- Rattling cat (warrantied)

Recently:
- Intake tube torn at throttle body (replaced myself $18)
- Hood struts failing (costs $35 but use vice grips for now)
- EGR valve had a bit of carbon jamming it open causing a no-start condition (free fix)

Honestly these little things can be frustrating at the time. I do love this car though, and I plan on rocking it till the wheels fall off. Just bought an under-spoiler kit for it. This will be the first mod (aside from mandatory Vegas tint). I don't think I will get carried away like I did with my Civic.

Can you tell more about this "clicking noise" that 6MT owners experience?

when making slow sharp turns a clicking, more like a loud creaking (sounds like metal on metal binding), comes from the passenger or drivers side..mostly passenger side.. problem is worn cv joint.

I have had my car 5.5 years since new with only three trips to dealer:

1. blown driver's side speaker (warranty) - 1 trip for diagnosis & 1 trip for install of ordered part.

2. power steering recall

This is the best car ever owned- I do all the other maintenance and it is easy.

Ok, I have my acura for 4.5 year and here is my list

1. Accelerator Pedal Position (diy, spent $170)
2. Cracked Dashboard (warranty)
3. Fuel Cap (warranty)
4. Starter died (diy, spent $375)
5. OEM battery died twice in a year and I replaced it with optima battery
5. Front passenger window motor died (spent $400 to fix)
6. Driver window is not working anymore (will fix this summer)

Those are little things that pissed me off to the oblivion but my TL never had major mechanical issue. Although 2 of my list was fixed under warranty is a good thing and I'm not complaining. The only thing that my TL left me stranded twice when the starter and battery died on me.

had mine for just over a year, 16k miles

outside of regular maintenance:
1. passenger side door rattle. fixed with insulating foam.
2. side motor mount. replaced.
3. possible front motor mount (i'll find out when i replace it. already purchased new part).
4. call cancel and voice cancel lights on steering wheel are burnt out.
5. replaced passenger CV axle.
6. 3rd brake light cover leaking light onto the rear deck. fixed with insulating foam.
7. passenger mirror developing small brown spots. Nothing crazy, but can be noticed if looking at it closely. I never used the defrost. Also shudders when moving into the reverse position but works fine otherwise.

all in all, not a lot imo, and nothing that renders the car un-drivable. Just annoyances. I still thoroughly enjoy my car and have zero regrets.

Got my 05 in 08 with 30k now 60k

1. Head unit failed (replaced warranty)
2. Starter failed - napa power now

Thats it, i'm loving my TL. I like this thread already, just seeing how many other people have had starter problems is interesting. Might be able to find other weak links.

07 TLS - 6 years - 30k miles
1. passenger seat rattle/loose - fixed under warranty
2. passenger window malfunctioned - fixed under warranty - it broke again
3. rattles here and there - dealer attempted to fix it
4. loud thumping from rear suspension - dealer did the tsb - seems to be the same to me

So not too bad.
