Irritated as hell with ATLP

Back on June 10 I placed a $200 preorder deposit on the ATLP catback for my 07 TL-S. Here it is August 2nd and I still haven't received my exhuast. I have emailed them twice for updates. Response #1: Our lazer engraving machine in down and will be fixed on monday. Your exhuast will ship early next week. This was 2 weeks ago. Reponse #2: We are building the kits in the order in which orders were received. Yours will be built and shipped by monday( this would have been this past monday).

This kit looks awesome, but I'm losing patience. I understand production delays, but 7 weeks is a little ridiculous isn't it?

seven weeks is not really that long. You are talking about exhaust. I waited about 2 months for my Rear Underbody spoiler. Trust I know how you feel.

Yea man I'm sure they want your money just as much as you want the exhaust. Just wait it out I guess.

You should ask them, "WTF IS THIS!?!?! JACK IN THE BOX?????!?! WE DONT MAKE IT UNTIL YOU ORDER IT!??!?!"

HAHAHHA that would be funny

all joking aside. Id be a lil irratated. I cant stand when people or even worse, companys/business's give you the "runaround". Id be a lil irratated.

hey, this is a custom exhaust you're ordering and also the best one out there. it's almost the same as ordering custom wheels, u have to wait for it to be made and also this isn't a huge company like greddy. it's more of a product that was made for the acura community by an acura owner, not a mass produced item.

if mike sees this thread I bet you this will be the last batch he makes

this dude does not own a performance shop, doesn't own a business, meaning all the products he's dropped for us, are at his expense, show some gratitude via patience

threadstarter, I understand why you would be irritated... As most people here have said, custom wheels take almost six months. Most parts from japan take at least six months as well.. Just hang in there, and I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

ATLP please don't stop making these exhausts!!! I still have to put my deposit down

all right everybody my intent with this post was not to bash Mike at ATLP in any way. I know he's not the size of Greddy, so production volumes are much different. He makes an awesome product both in terms of looks and sound. For me this kit is far nicer than Greddy. That's why I'm willing to spend the extra money. I have H&R sports in my garage. I was hoping to get both installed at the same time. Mike please don't stop making this kit, because of this post.

He wouldn't.

There is just soo much that is going on since the first ATLP exhaust.

List of whats going on:

1) 3G ATLP (exhaust + j-pipe + race-pipe)
2) RDX ATLP exhaust. (ran into a little problem with a company)
3) In the making of a 2G TL ATLP exhaust.
4) 2G RL J-pipe.
5)

you see why it takes awhile?
theres just soo much one person can do with one company.

It's worth the wait.

My ATLP for 2G TL

After reading the email responses, it doesn't sound like a runaround, it sounds like they were trying to update the status of the order.

sorry in advance to the threadstarter, but i have a quick question if anyone can answer. Since the ts has been waiting almost two months for the exhaust, I was wondering.. if I put down the deposit for the exhaust, would I be added onto the long list? Rather than putting my deposit later on and being even farther down the list? Because at the moment I can cover the deposit, however I'm worried if the exhaust is made faster than expected and I don't have the rest to cover.. In such a scenario.. Would my exhaust be on hold? or given to the person with the money first. And final question.. picked up, would this be in West Hills, CA?

well i can vouch 100% for Mike. hes a great guy with a great product and he will get it to u asap. hes not trying to take your money or give you the run-around. it just takes time. i personally know mike along with all the other SoCal people and some norcal and i KNOW for a fact that it does take some time to get the exhaust made. its pretty much made to order, its not worth it for him to make one exhaust at a time..plus its not convenient. and hes got TONS of othert stuff going on as well like school.

If you would of been in on the original batch I think the wait would have still been that long.

Be patient it will get there.

^ lol... original batch... i placed deposit in like beginning of October, and got the Exhaust mid-december.... the wait sucked, but was WELL WORTH IT !!!

Even with the J-Pipe... I deposited in February, and got the pipe mid-april

but like others said, its a custom product being made for us... so it can take time.... some people can wait, some cant.. im usually an inpatient f*ck, which is why i didnt order my Work Wheels (3 month+ wait) but the ATLP exhaust products.... man.... well worth it.... you can get over 20whp+ combined from the Jpipe and exhaust... my

I had to wait 8-10 weeks for my Progress RSB. Reason being was that production hadn't even started when I placed my order.

I would just wait til you had all the money, that way if something happens and you can't make all the money you thought you'd get, you won't be stuck in a bad situation.

At least it was a deposit and you didn't pay for everything up front.

That tells me there was an understanding that there would be a waiting period.

For clarity here guys, ATLP is a side job for Mike. Like all of you, he has a day job. I can stand up a web-site too, doesn't mean that it's all I do. Anyone who's been here a while knows... Mike was just a punk ass enthusiast like all of us 2 years ago, but HE wanted nice parts for his TL, had some made, and was so pleased, he turned it into a side business that is clearly doing well.

I won the Acurazine charity donation raffle at Christman, and the prize was an ATLP exhaust. I won in December, and didn't get it until almost April... The first round had a 4 months wait between the first deposits and first shipments.

Mike's put together an awesome exhaust system, and is making the best stuff there is for the TL. The attention to detail and quality are unmatched.

I waited 4 months for Volks...

It seems I'm now on my 3rd months waiting for those innovative motor mounts.

Custom made, one-off production good shit takes time and money... Be patient, the wait will be worth it.

yea im on the waiting list as well, patiently waiting. dont trip!! good things come to those who wait. like Kennedy said the wait will be worth it.

i remember a while ago Mike wanted some info on a front strut bar for the TL, he asked about it like 7-8 times, Kennedy kept on beating him down about it. Mike you've come a long way, keep on doing what you're doing ATLP exhaust FTW!!!

Paying the full amount for the exhaust instead of the deposit also speeds things up as it give mike more money to work with. Making him front the money for the piece you want has to slow things down. All my ATLP stuf took about 4 months to get here except for the 3rd cat delete which took like 3 days. From the look of things it was worth the wait.

I didn't realize it would take so long for delivery. Does anyone in North Jersey or Hampton Roads have this exhaust? I'm sure I won't be disappointed after hearing nothing but rave reviews. I'd still like to hear this in person before placing the order. I can't believe I've spent more money on the WDP than I did on my other baby. This is the first white car I've owned and it's really starting to grow on me!

I love the ATLP exhaust! I will probably get one eventually. I just wish I could get mike to use type-s tips. I'm just going to order during the winter so I'm not so pressed. After hearing how it sounds it's worth the wait.

To the OP, I just received the ATLP Exhaust about two weeks ago after waiting for about 2 and a half months. It's not like he doesn't want to sell you the exhaust, it is just that he has a ton of other projects. Sometimes, like in my case, the laser the writes the ATLP logo on the side of the exhaust tips was not working. So that took a few days to fix. So there are a lot of things that can happen that are out of Mike's hands. So just be patient and you will not regret it. BTW, do you really want to fill up your car every week? B/c once you get that exhaust on, you can't go lower than 70 mph b/c you want to keep hearing that beautiful tone it gives off.

damn man I didn't realize that you had it. Have not been monitoring the HR thread as much as I should. Where did you have it installed? Right she has the tints, CAI, rear A spec (don't care for the front) and tein ss (I can't believe I never installed these on the nbp..damn women, lol)

I'll look you up when I'm in town again and hopefull I can see this in person. I'm sure the you tube videos are sufficient but I prefer to see/hear things in person
