2008 TL-S /w trunk tray, wheel locks, mudflaps?, lifetime oil changes. $34,900 not counting tax and all the other little fees. Feel like I got a decent deal.

So I've been haggling with the dealer for a couple of weeks now and it's starting to get pretty irritating.
The thing is the may incentive is over, so they were trying to pressure me into buying pretty badly, but another dealer said they'd extend that deal for me until whenever so I thought it was bs either way.
However, the one dealer i've been haggling with said he'd sell an 08 base for about 31 something out the door. Is that a good deal or no?
The thing with that is, my friend said he got an 08 base for 29 out the door, but the dealer wouldn't budge at that price.

In May dealers were advertising the base for $29.5K in the newspaper here in MA, offering them for somewhat lower if you called them - and these are starting positions. But, not sure if the $2.5K incentive was extended for June - check Edmunds.

I just picked up an 08 navi for 33,400 with the protection package (splash guards and trunk tray) and a clear bra. The dealer addendum sticker shows the protection package costing 495 and the clear bra 300 so I kinda got 800 worth of extras for free. Try and see which cars have been there a while (mine was delivered in nov 07) because they need to move those faster...I called around to three different acura dealers and 33,400 was the best I could get which is like 100 over invoice I think.

The price quotes i'm getting for 08 TL Base (no nav) is $28,000.
Stock levels at the dealers are high in the Boston area.
I am going to make a purchase before the end of the month. I will let you know how good I did on price.

I just bought my 2008 TL non-navi a few months ago for $31K out the door. I told them that I could afford $31K total, not a dime more. I simply said if that was possible, we can write it up, if not possible, I didn't want to waste their time and I would continue to shop around. I like this approach, as it makes it so simple when they come back and say "we are close to that number, but we just can't get there". I just extend my hand for a handshake and say "I'm sorry I wasted your time, thanks for trying, I'll continue shopping around". They HATE that you are going to walk out so calmly, and then they get serious.
They realized I was a buyer and not a looker and we wrote up the paperwork, $31K out the door.

Mike C mentioned that he purchased it couple months ago. I don't think Acura was promoting $3,500 incentive to dealer at the time so I would say his $31,000 OTD at the time was reasonable.

Yeah I forgot about that one and that's a good point. I do still think he could've gone a little lower but I'm sure with all of the time and aggravation he saved w/ his approach it was worth the few extra dollars.

'06 TL 5AT NAV Anthracite
I purchased my '06 3G in Sept 2006. I generally dislike and distrust dealerships because of their seemingly endless antics. I had a check in-hand from my credit union. Since I didn't want to deal with the usual BS, I requested quotes online from several dealerships in the DC area. One of them tried the back and forth stuff with wanting to talk to me in-person and/or by phone so that he could "explain the features and make sure I was purchasing the right car".
In my reply I stated that I did not wish to talk nor visit the dealership, I knew all I needed to know about the car, I had no allegiance to any dealership, I was shopping around and the best deal gets the prize and only at that point would I visit the dealership.
The dealership I purchased the car from agreed to 31K for my '06 5AT w/NAV. The first guy e-mailed me yet again. I told him that I had a pending deal and he didn't believe me and asked to see the e-mail from the other dealer. I sent it to him and then he offered to "beat the deal" by $125 w/o mud guards.
I declined, and 2 days later sold my '02 Accord EX V6 to CarMax and picked up my TL.
I think you just have to stay firm and as long as you have a reasonable offer on the table... things should work in your favor.
