Inverter Igniter question

My right headlight is out. Dealer says I need a new inverter igniter assembly that they can install for $1500.00. Anyone have any experience with this issue? Could an accomplished (but non-dealer) mechanic fix this for less?

WTF is an inverter igniter?! Does he mean the ballast for the HIDs?

Yeah, I don't see you paying a dime over $100 for a DIY fix here.

Igniter is the cable from the Ballast to the Bulb.

It shouldn't cost that much. Just labor to remove the bumper and change the cable.

you could actually do it yourself if you can find an igniter... DO NOT PAY 1500 for it though.. thats robbery.
