Intermittent shaking while driving

Hey guys…
  • Tires are less than 2k miles old.
  • Alignment done within 2 weeks.
  • Road force balance done today.
  • Shop charged me a disgusting amount to replace bent tie rods.

My issue:
From a cold start, I drive the car 5-10 minutes. The car will then start shaking, usually beginning at speed over 45mph (you can feel it in the car and holding the steering wheel). This lasts for above 5-10 minutes then goes away. I’m at a loss at what to do other than to check for bent wheels. Shop now wants to charge me an additional fee for a chassis test, which I feel like they should’ve done already. Any suggestions, or should I just sell the damn thing?

What is a chassis test? Never heard of that haha. Did they say the tie rods would fix your issue? Bent rims would make sense…except I would think it would get worse the faster you go. Maybe axles?

I think this shop just ripped me off. They said they test hooks up some kind of stethoscope to different sections of the car to diagnose the vibrations/shaking 🤷🏻‍♂️. Why didn’t they do that in the first place???? I’m going to go back on Monday and see if they are willing to do the fix correctly since they warranty their work, they’ve been trying to tell me they weren’t aware that shaking was the issue. Have a different mechanic scheduled to look at it as well, because I can’t figure it out

Flatspotting due to low temps?
Once the tires warm up, they go back to fully round.

What type of weather are you experiencing, and what model tires?

Tires are pretty new, but went budget. Temps currently fluctuate between 40 and 60 here in NC

When you say the car shakes - do passengers notice or is it just feed back from the steering wheel? If passengers can feel it/notice the shaking that seems pretty significant.

thanks for your question - my wife definitely it took. Just dropped it off at a different mechanic so hopefully I’ll have some insight soon.
