Interior Lighting.. VLED's 360-Style vs. eBay LED Board

These are the VLEDs that I previously had for 1+ year - http://www.vleds.com/bulb-number/194...21-1-pair.html

These are the new eBay LED boards that "MEKO" introduced me to - http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_odkw...at=0&_from=R40 - These are crisp perfect 5k pure white. No tinge of blue at all.

Those LED boards are also available in RED, BLUE, WHITE, GREEN, and AMBER for the same price.

They also come with 3 different type of adapters so they can be used for other vehicles too

Onto the pictures.

I have a 30 LED board in the trunk purchased for less than $10 shipped. It's so bright that it lights up the ground behind the car at night up to 10+ feet. I didn't realize it was going to be so bright! A 15, 16, or 18 LED board would have been just fine.

I ordered 6 of the 12LED white boards for $27 shipped. That's $9.50/pair.

^^^^just check around on Ebay they even have 48 LED board. AS far as interior lightning goes LED board beat everything out there for fraction of the price.

Looks sick, can you take a pic of how you mounted them and maybe an ebay link?

Thanks in advance.

Seller is snb331.

I bought my LED boards off him, too.

I got the 15LED for the fronts and 12 LED for the rears.

Yes, they are PURE white.

Here's a comparison between the one from snb331 and another ebay seller that advertised their LED as "white".

Comparison between snb331 15 LED and VLEDs 6SMT flank bulb (flanks are brighter than 360).

The 30 LED board is currently out of stock. My brother bought the last one. But I guarantee you will still be satisfied with a 24 LED board

Does anyone know where I can purchase 5k pure white 6inch LED strips? The one in the back seat appears 6,500k.

I purchased those from Ebay seller nyte_ryderz. I hate Sellers that don't specify what Kelvin rating the leds are! The 5k vleds strip lights are on backorder until March.

I found the listings and they say 3M adhesive backed, so did you just stick them where they lay flattest?

That's the same setup I'm running; 15s up front and 12s in the back.

My 15s LED boards up front were a tight fit. Don't know how easy it will be to fit a 24 LED board.

My front domes I have it sticking by the edges because I used a 12 LED board and it's a small fit. I haven't mounted my doors. I'll show you pictures soon.

Wow you guys are crazy. I honestly think these 12 LED boards are overkill and I would rather get a 9 LED board. 15 is going to be insanely bright lol. 24 LED is just ridiculous!

There was a group buy for them a little over a year ago. They were brought back into production for a limited time. I believe the last time they were available was back in 2008 until around 2011 they were being produced again but in limited numbers. They were available in white, blue, or red. Costed me $185 shipped.

Just as easy... considering I shoved a 48 LED board in the front and rears......

^^I did the exact same lol, 12 for doors and domes and 15 for the trunk. Then I got a lil excited and ordered LEDs for the reverse lights, plate lights, vanity lights, glove box and console. Then new projector lenses and bulbs, new drl and turn signal bulbs lol. Now I just gotta wait for them to show up lol and try not to buy anything else until they do lol.

You guys that have swapped your trunk lights - what is the biggest LED board that you would think would fit back there?

A 1,000 LED board will fit lol... I have a 30 LED board and I have it double-sided tape to the carpet lining on the roof of the trunk (if that makes sense..) The max that seller sells is a 64 LED board and that's over kill.

Like I said before, If I could do it all over again I would not get 30 LED board for the trunk. It's complete over kill and it's ridiculous. 15 board will do just fine. 24 LED board is still over kill in my eyes.

You guys have no idea how bright 30 LED board is. At night it literally lights up 10-20 feet of the ground behind the car.... That's just ridiculous and draws too much attention at night.

I'll vouch for these things, they're the shit. I'm gonna try ordering some slightly smaller ones for the doors and a larger one for the trunk.

15 LED boards in the front, replacing some 5 SMD wedges.

The car lights up crazy, I have the 12's in the rear, honestly the 15's are overkill but I like overkill lol.

so how do you mount these in the dome? they are just an interference fit or did you tape/glue them?

they come with double sided tape, a small strip on both ends did the trick for me

As midnightcivic already mentioned, these come with 3M double sided tape.

If you look closely at the picture below you will notice each individual LED board package comes with it's own double sided 3M tape that is perfectly cut the same size as the LED board you are purchasing.

I just stuck the whole square on with some of the wire underneath it since there's a few inches of wire, and stuck them where they lay flattest. Not much tape is actually stuck to the housing but they're resting on the lens in some spots so it's not like they can fall out.

I have gone through a few different types of china leds for my map lights and all have sucked and been very blue. I was about to make my own from individual leds, but these look really good. Thanks for the info!

These are NOT BLUE at all. Not even a slight tinge or hue of blue. PURE WHITE. You sound like me. I'm very OCD about small things, one of which is having "white" LEDs that are actually bluish-white like arctic color. I can't stand it. To me it looks like a cheap LED. I'm all about pure crisp clean white and the ebay ones I posted in my original link get my vote. I've already purchased a 30 LED board for my brothers trunk.

I promise you. Just buy 1 single LED board for less than $7 and see if you like it. If you do like it, than buy the rest. That's exactly what I did. I purchased a 30 LED board for the trunk. I didn't care if it turned out bluish-white (6k) because it was in the trunk and no one would see. It turns out that they were pure 5k white and I immediately ordered the other 6 LED board after installing the 30 LED board trunk light

So I ordered more for my doors and trunk, 9 for the doors, a 24 for the trunk. The 24 for the trunk is just a few mm wider than the lens so I stuck it to the lens. The carpet hangs a down a little so the LEDs aren't blocked or right on the carpet.

So I purchased 6 12's in red for the map, doors and back seat lights. Also purchased one 15 in white for the trunk. They are definitely worth the money. I went red to match the interior ambient lighting my TL-S already has. I'd def be getting a set in white for our civic.

just my 2 cents, but some of that is overkill. I dont want that much light in mine. My cheap led ones are plenty bright for me. I do want some brighter reverse ones though.

I installed mine last week and they definitely lived up to my expectations. I got the 12 smd ones. They were a little too bright for my taste, so I cut one of the wires and put a 100ohm resistor on them. Now the brightness is more what I'm used to.

The 9 LED ones are bright enough for any of the stock spots and small enough to fit anywhere, anything past that is overkill, but I like overkill.

Does anyone have any idea why some of the LED boards listed on the seller's site (here) are listed for less than $10 and others are listed for nearly $100? It seems independent of size too, like the $18 LED board costs $5.95, but the 9 LED board costs $99.35. WTF?

People do that when they are out of stock temporarily so no one will buy them. That way they don't have to re-list them again every shipment they get.
