Interior Lighting Help!

I want to put blue LEDs in the foot well to give a nice blue glow at night inside the car. Ive seen a couple of members here put LEDs which look really nice but i dont know which LEDs to use. Should i use a 12 inch LED strip? 6 inch LED strip, two high flux LEDs per foot well, one on each side of the foot well? are there any other possibilities. Wiring them isnt a problem, i just would like to know what LEDs i should use for a nice glow at night, nothing too bright. Thanks

I used either the 8 inch or the 10 inch red LED strips in my Type S. Each cost $20 and I know they were not the brightest ones available. I wanted more ambient light instead of really bright lighting underneath. I used one LED strip per seat, so I've got one under each side of the dash. Then I had mounted the two in the back seats under the kickboards of the back seats-not underneath the front seats! That way, they won't get kicked if they're on the kickplate of the back seat.

Nice! Did you wire it to a switch? or do they turn on with the maplights?

I used 6 LED WLED bulbs from superbrightleds.com. Not as bright as some might like, but I'm quite satisfied w/them.

BTW I highly recommend putting white LEDs in the front dome lights, it's easier on the eyes and dilutes the blue light in the rear domes. Less tacky IMHO.

Thats exactly what im looking for too. My uncle has a new MDX and i like the blue mood lighting in the foot well. i want soemthing just like that. THe LED strip does look a little too focus and it seems like you might see the lines on the floor. Maybe using one or two high flux LEDs, one on each side of the foot well would work?

We wired the switch to come on with the headlights. I did it that way since the existing underdash lights come on with the headlights. If you do a search, there is a thread from Rockyfeller that details the entire install. We followed that and have not had any problems with them at all.
