Interior LED Help

Well, I just picked up my first car and it was a 2006 Acura TL and I wanted the change the lights into LED. I don't really know how to change them or how to choose them out so could someone help me? Thanks in advance.

^ Hi lyleee! Changing out the LEDs for the dome lights is pretty easy compared to some of the other lights we have. You can probably do a search and find some pictures what to do, but here's what I remember:

1. use a butter knife to pry the translucent lens off- they should pop off with a little leverage. I remember prying from the middle of each fixture first.
2. taking out the bulb is much easier if you wrap the bulb with some non-skid rubber material so your fingers have added grip to pull out the bulb. I used the stuff that you place on the bottom of shelves.
3. The door lights are very easy to replace by popping off the lens cover.
4. I gave up on the vanity lights because I was afraid of tearing the material around them so I don't have any good advice on those. The licence plate light and trunk light are also harder to do but manageable with a little patience.

The question is: "Which Lights"? The ambient green or the map/dome/door filament bulbs?

for the interiors (minus vanity) you want 904's
for the reverse lights you want 921's
for the license plate you want 194 wedges.

Get as many LEDs as you can on each platform.

I got 9-LEDs for my interiors; sometimes it's lacking.

Yeah, that's what I wanted to know, and what brands are good and reliable. I don't really wanna spend a whole bunch on lights.

The dome lights are the two reading lights in the front and the one ceiling light in the back. The vanity lights are for the courtesy mirrors.

i bought those (that first batch) from Super Autobacs a while back. they ran about $30 a pair for those wedge LEDs (they had 3 on each bulb).

i currently run 24 LEDs on my domes, which are much brighter than what you see on that pic. those i got from my friend locally. i dont know where he gets them and i dont know if they are available online.

i'll show you how mine turned out.

i bought 6 of these in white

they are really bright and do the job very well. people say it's really nice because it's white and it shines everything rather than just a little orange light.

i used those for the following

2 map lights
2 vanity lights
2 rear domes

just so you're clear,

all the interior bulbs are actually 194. you do not need to change the type of bulb because they are all the same.

i would suggest getting the same ones from the dome into the door lights, license plate, and trunk light.

the trunk light is mounted horizontally and i bought the directional one... now only half my trunk is luminated. get the same one for the interior

the license plate mount is diagonal and it's not straight down on the plate, so the directional one worked out fine and i think you'll want the directional one on the reverse lights, but it does not fill the lense properly so there is a hot spot.

i'll take pictures of the doors and trunk/reverse/license plate tomorrow

Could you take pictures in the dark like a garage or something? If you could that is. Where and how much are those lights?

taking pics in the dark is the same as those i've taken outside at night time... the camera will always make them brighter than they seem.

the lights fill very well on the inside and i'm pretty happy with them. it doesn't shine that much because i have ebony leather on the inside and black doesn't reflect light that well. but when you're inside, it's like having a florecent light above you.
