Couldn't find this answer using the search, so I figured I'd ask - are the interior door handles aluminum or plastic with metal color paint?

 

going from the price of them (27.20) i highly doubt they are real aluminum

 

They definitely feel plastic.

 

Yeah, I suspect they're plastic - I did a test today - ran the AC on cold for a while and began touching the known aluminum surfaces. The aluminum surfaces were really cold where as the door handles weren't too cold to the touch.

 

Not sure if I'd want them to be real aluminum. I bet they'd get really hot to the touch when the interior gets hot during the summer.

 

does anyone know what type of paint they are using to fool us like that? i think the grille is the same, but it doesn't get rock chips easily like a painted grille.

 

They're actually quite heavy once you seperate them from the plastic.

They're made of what appears to be "pot metal", kind of a low quality cast steel that is polished and plated, then brushed to look like aluminum.
