Angry Insurance company can't find the car?

My insurance company (Mercury) says the car is too new to be on their system. They have put the 3.2 TL Type-S on my policy. Does anybody else have this issue with their insurance company? I would think the type-S designation would cost me more in premiums.

I am my own insurance agent. Had no problem finding the car. Your premium will be different once it goes into the system but it should save you premium.

You may see in an earlier post that I addressed this. The short story is that many insurance companies will not have the '04 cars listed right now. Thus, for your first policy term with the TL, it will most likely be based on 03 TLs. My company asked if it was a type S and I said that it was not because they do not make it anymore. Thus, they based my premiums on 03 TL. However, when the insurance companies get their data (HP) later this year, my premiums will obviously go up next renewal term.

They most likely will not go up depending on the insurance company, newer cars are discounted more because of the safety features

Allstate had it listed early in October. Says so on my revised insurance card. So it depends on the insurance co.

USAA argued with the salesman and I telling us that the VIN was not valid. We rechecked it three times. The VIN they thought it should have matched up with the 04 TSX.

I had to get a supervisor to straighten it out, she said that the 04 TL VINs were "not in the system yet".

HTH.
