Installing TL Type S decklid spoiler

My brand new TL-S rear trunk spoiler is on its way and I got a crazy deal - $200 bux shipped.

The distributor told me it needs 7 bolts drilled thru the trunk to be installed - anyone do this themselves? I'm considering taking this to a local bodyshop - it should be something they can do fairly quickly.

Thanks!

You can
(a) Use 3M automotive tape, it's strong as all hell.
(B) Make a drill template using cardboard, drill, install

I just got my decklid spoiler over the weekend as a b-day present from my brother, I took it to a local body shop paid $30 to install it came painted with double sided tape, and 2 holes, one on each end so its bolted on there to make sure no one steals it.

DIY install is fairly simple. I picked up on a good trick from Maxima.org about how someone used play-doh as a guide to where it needs to be drilled. He tried to eyeball it as to where he thought the holes needed to be, then put a generous serving of play-doh at the spot, then put the spoiler where it should go on the deck lid. He then lifted up the spoiler and could see the exact spot for drilling. I think there is a DIY guide over on that site.
Of course, if you're nervous to drill you deck lid, the body shop install is also a good route!

quick question on this install...the dealership from here in london told me that the mounting of this spoiler is the same as the aspec spoiler...in other words...you would not have any exposed bolt holes from the larger spoiler to the smaller...my thoughts are that there would be exposed holes left from the aspec...can anyone shed some light on this?

I love it when people ask for answers from the community and refuse to help in turn.

Sooooo a seller is concerned about their business growing?

Lawdy, this is starting to get interesting.

here you go dipshit: mikeman81@rogers.com

this is the best deal for a type s spoiler - 200 shipped from canada. as stated above i havent received mine thats why i didnt want to post the persons email address until i got mine and it checked out. he has an ebaystore thats how i found him and can get other acura parts too but the tl-s spoiler seemed like the best deal he was offering.

Must be a replica. I have been monitoring Ebay for months & never saw a OEM TLS for $200.

OP, you have yet to answer the question if this is a replica or not.

I'm not trying to be a, what was it...oh yeah, 'dipshit' as you so maturely stated, but I am trying to ascertain if this a real-deal Type-S or simply an overpriced replica.

I did mine myself, but if I would have known it was only about $30, I definately would have a bodyshop do it.
I drilled mine, I think the 3m proved unreliable in the long run on several members cars.
