It's pretty easy.

The OEM fogs (right beside the low beam) can be accessed through the engine bay.
On the driver side you'll have to remove the air breather tube (2 clips).

I did this with 3000k HIDs and found it MUCH easier and sped up the job if you were to remove the bumper and headlight assemblies.

This along with the relay hack, is probably one of my favorite "mods" thus far.

Remove the bumper, you'll wish you had when deciding where to mount the wiring and ballasts.

Front bumper removal is a piece of cake, and after doing it a few times it can be taken off/on in about 10 minutes.

Above it the link to run your fogs independently, and attached is front bumper removal and pages related to the headlight assemblies.

Good luck and enjoy!

OP, I went with a 3k, 35w kit for my fogs, taking the bumper off made life much easier and it didn't take long either. Planning to replace the kit with a 3k or 4500k 55w kit come springtime.

Has anyone found/installed 4300k fogs? I want to match my headlights, and have been searching for osram 4300k h8 bulbs, just wondering if anyone has had luck finding those.

Not many aftermarket companies do the factory look. YOu can get Hoen Match bulbs which are halogen but match the HID's.

Had a set in my TL for a long time before going to HID's. I bought upgraded connectors as they were 55W bulbs and I didn't want the factory pigtails to melt.

If people are using HID fog systems for their cars, can you please post pics so I can see how similar they are to the stock headlights color, as well as the sources where you purchased your lights?

Thanks in advance everyone!

Those are the original headlight bulbs so they're pretty dim compared to how they should look, but the fogs are a 35w, 3000k DDM kit with no name bulbs. Will be replacing all of them soon with 4500k for headlights and 6000k fogs, all Morimoto.

Also, from a distance of more than 50ft or so, they don't look very yellow at all.

Just out of of curiosity what is with hid bulbs is the fog lamps particularly 6000k? Do you all not realize fog lamps are meant to help see in the fog, I know imagine that, and 6000k hid's will do nothing to help in the fog. Fog lamps should really be yellow, but yellow hid's don't look that good. Also, the cutoff on the hid "retrofits" is pretty terrible compared to halogen bulbs, but who cares if you blind oncoming traffic.
Hell, my 5000k hid headlamps are terrible when it comes to reflecting off a wet road. If I didn't have 9012 fog lamp bulbs it would not be fun at all. When I get new hid's the highest kelvin I'm going to go is 4500k anything higher imho is just too blue.

Just for reference here is a pic of the cutoff of just my 9012 fogs alone.
