Installing Center Console and Glove Compartment LED's

I finally figured out how to remove the center console and glove compartment stock bulbs, but there was one problem... The LED's are too long! The LED's that ebay user "tec_toyz" sells for the TL's center console and glove compartment are about 1/8" too long to fit in the sockets. I'm thinking about drilling a hole through the top plastic part of the socket so the bulb will fit straight in from the top of the socket. Drilling a hole should not affect the look or fit of the socket because the clips are still there. I'll try drilling the holes tomorrow and if it's successful I will post pics if requested.

It will fit, but it is a challenge to force it in. I bought mine from TecToyz too and getting these two bulbs in is the hardest thing I have ever done to my car.

If you get the acrylic bulbs from Brian @ Tec_Toyz, you can sand/file the top of the bulb down.... Just be sure you don't snap the actual LED portion of the bulb apart from the base (not that I've done that, just heard that it can happen )

And I agree with yatesd, those bulbs were a pain in the a$$ to change out.

I got mine in fine. You just have to use a litte bit of force and keep on twisting it in different directions.
