I've installed the Type-S bumper on my 2006, and wanted to see if the existing foglight harness (HB4, 12v 51w) would fit the new fogs (H8, 12v 35w).

I've also read that splicing the harness can cause electrical issues (insufficient current, bad wiring job, etc), so I'm hoping to just plug the existing harness into the new fogs. Questions:

1) Are the bulb sockets completely different? I tried searching online, but can't find decent pics of either socket type.

2) Is splicing truly unreliable, even if professionally done? Can Acura dealers do this?

I really just want the new fogs working (the old ones can stay unplugged), but having them both turn on would be OK too.

Any advice/suggestions welcome
