Installed straight pipe!

There was a thread a couple of days ago about cutting out the 2 silencers and replacing it with a straigt pipe. Well i'm silly so i did it today, man well worth the $58 i spent. I also have a injen CAI and the combo makes it sound mean when takin off.

Well one place i went to said it woul cost $150 bucks and tried to get all tecnichal with me, dont buy into it. Take it to a place that will lift it up and give you a free estimate, tell them you just want from before the first silencer to right after the second silencer cutt and replaced with 2 1/4" pipe. It took these guys 30min to do it and i took the old pipes home in my trrunk (3ft)

Does it produce a deeper throaty sound now? Does the car run smoother with less restrictions?

I did this mod several months ago and after a a couple of days I went back to the shop to put the resonators back on. The sound wasn't what I expected. It sounded raspy and kind of like those fart cans on modded hondas although at a lower level. It also had a high frequency whistle just off idle. It wasn't the low rumble I was looking for. The resonators have a purpose and that is to attenuate frequency peaks and removing it just enhances the objectionable sounds. Some people may like the sound, I didn't.

It probably sounds like a waste of money.

I too am looking to do this mod. I have the injen intake, so I would like the low rumble like the boxster or simlar. Someone please post a sound clip, I would like to do get this done this weekend. Maybe remove only one resonator?

Good one Rets, I was wondering if removing the resonator had any effect on low end response. Especially since now that I had an accident, almost the entire induction is clearly visible and I was going to take the resonator off (or bypass it?). All I know on this subject is that if you have CAI and are taking more air in, more air out thru exhasut or what not is needed to benefit fully.

Sorry to hear that BAV (well-deserved term) story. Hope things are all OK. Still waiting for your update and pics if possible.
