Clearing is a bitch but installing the switchbacks takes like 2 minutes. Check in your manual.

What about JnC? He will clear them, you can install the switchbacks yourself while the headlight is out.

sorry i'm so clueless as to how to install switchback. Do you put something inside the headlight? Does the headlight have to be opened to install the swithback? If its that simple i wouldnt mind doing it myself. Someone just PMed saying they'll do it for $300. I think 300 is alil too much just for clearing and adding switchback. Brian (bforbrian) you're not going to sell your headlights anytime soon right?

Brian, do you also know how to install halos as well? If yes, maybe i'll wait for you to come down from cornell and have you do it.

If you can change a turn signal bulb in your headlight you can install a switchback. Just twist and pull.

A switchback is nothing but a turn signal bulb made out of LEDs.

I can instal the switchbacks w/ resistors for you, but clearing is a pain, especially sealing it correctly, I won't go back there if its not for myself..

whats resistor for? you install the switchback just like changing a light bulb? thats it? i thought you had to open the headlight and attach something to the corner. Heck if its that easy i'll do it myself. I got a guy at a shop who is willing to smoke and clear the corners for $75. Any recommended webiste for switchbacks?

give this place a shot.

someone can correct me if i'm wrong. the switchbacks needs less current than the stock bulbs as a result the car think ur bulb is broken. thus the blinker goes *blink**blink**blink**blink* when its suppose to *blink*pause*blink*pause*blink*...
The resistors are there to shunt out the extra current so it drawing the same amount of current thus it won't go *blink**blink**blink**blink*

youre right. just asked a friend about it. He basically said the same thing. Omnuts, how much would it cost to get the the switchback installed from you? Omnuts you dont happen to know how to install Halos or change the side mark (front oj part) to white?

halos and the reflector requires taking apart the headlight which sounds like Omnuts don't want to do. too bad your not local or else id help you out.
if a shop can clear and smoke your headlight for $75, its a good price assuming they do a nice job.

If you can install the OEM bulbs then you can install the switchbacks as well . The resistors do not take rocket science either, they come with two wire tapping plugs and all you have to do is follow the simple instructions and snap them into the wires and you are done.
I'd help you swap headlights as well but due to the cold weather and not having access to a heated bay I cant .

LEDs have less resistance that normal bulbs.... the TLs signaling circuit doesn't "see" the load thats normally there from the normal bulb, hence they blink faster.

Installing a load resistor in the circuit replicates the load from the normal bulb, hence they blink at the normal rate. These load resistors get very hot though so make sure you mount them properly. A better method to this is to install a "larger" resistor on your flash module... something I'm not 100% on but someone on AZ has done it before. IMO, a much cleaner and better solution
