My concubinal apparatus has an '06 Infiniti FX35 and yes, we've received the "warranty" extension paperwork from Infiniti. 10 years I think. Ours has more like indentions than the cracking I've seen pics of on here. Didn't know about that issue prior to my Acura purchase.

back to the OP's original point... i wonder if the dashes in the infiniti affect airbag operation, hence they issued a recall. i believe acura claims it does not affect airbag deployment hence doesn't affect safety meaning that they dont have to issue a recall i believe

^that's a good point, VQ.

i hope i never have to deal with my dash cracking, but it does bug me that i can see the outline of the passenger side airbag through the dash. anybody in my car would probably not even notice it, but i see it everyday. makes the dash look cheap.

i agree that it probably has something to do with airbag deployment being affected. i doubt acura will ever release any bulletin or recall
regarding dash cracking.

I was just in a brand new 2010 Honda Civic and you can see the outline of the passenger air bag too. Also in my gf's 2010 Impreza, you can faintly see it too. As long as I put maguires leather conditioner on it every 2 weeks or so you can barely see it on my TL at all. Starting to think its pretty normal.

^yup i use aerospace 303 protectant, and it hides it pretty well for a few weeks. it's outline is very faint as it is, but it's still annoying.

Here's the letter from Infiniti:

It's about time Honda/Acura stepped up to the plate and made the same offer!

The next time you want to insult someone (who coincidentally is talking about a common problem in our cars) here in 3G , let it go.

Also, this is not a spelling bee or a grammar contest. Knock off the BS.

yikes, why are people so negative?

The OP was frustrated and I don't see why he wouldn't be. Granted I don't know the differences between the infinitY and our Acura dash's.

i may be wrong, but seems to me most cracking dashes are in locations where it never stays clod for long (south florida) if you live up north i wouldn't worry too much, but i do agree 100% that acura should step up and give full coverage on the dashes.

edit:
i just saw your from puerto rico, your in the same boat as me then, hope it won't crack for you bud

I will definitely get one for the TL before the summer. We really like it, and it works well and is easy.
Sorry for the partial hijack.....

Honda stays pissing me off and Infiniti is no better. There all about the money like everyone else, although Honda took care of most of the problems I ever came to them with for free under warranty, but once that is done they will suck the life out of you!

Actually, the Infiniti brand spelling error is pretty common. I seen owners with Infiniti that spell it wrong. I think it more has to do with the brand recognition than anything else. Like Acura, Infiniti isn't "up there" like Lexus/MB/BMW, so people don't know Acura/Infiniti well or anything about them. Keeping that in mind might lead some people to miss spell the brand name. I mean, you don't see people sell Mercedes-Benz wrong? Frankly, I think Mercedes-Benz is probably the harder word to spell out.

Remember, selling cars is a business for the manufacturers, not an altruistic venture. Every car company wants to make $$$$.
Some just realize that you make more $$$$ by creating brand loyalty, not bleeding you on one aspect of one car.
Imagine how well Chrysler might have done over the years if their transmissions weren't such known junk.......
BTW, I'd say Honda has as much brand loyalty as anyone.
