I'm still TL-less!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I've been hunting through online sites and dealer inventories for an 05 or 06 TL with nav and less than 50,000 miles (in Louisiana). I'm not having so much luck. I drove 75 miles to Acura of Baton Rouge to browse their selection, which seemed to be about 5 TLs matching my description. Well, only 2 have navigation. One was white and one was burgundy (I don't know and am not searching for the exact color names ).

I really want the black with black interior though. There was one that was black without nav and with beige or tan interior.....the colors just don't fit for me.

Okay, so I drove an 06 white with nav and everything seemed okay. It is right under 44,000 miles and lowest price with TTL is $23,500.

I passed.......is it just me or does that seem too high?
And, since there were several without nav for more negotiable pricing, should I allow myself to not get the nav? It just seems like the TL was made to have it so I'm wanting the car to look right.

I doubt it...

Not everyone is willing to negotiate on price.

When I bought my car I offered a lower offer and the dealership wouldn't take it, they said they already set the price on all their used vehicles to the lowest possible price they can and they do not negotiate. I thought they were bluffing so I said my offer or no sale, he still wouldn't budge. I left and then came back two days later after being unable to find a better deal elsewhere and bought it.

Do not buy this car without the all important navigation. This is the heart of the interior. Look online for a nice TL. 23.5 is too high imo. You are almost in TYPE-S territorty with say 50-60k on it.

$23.5 with TTL doesn't tell us much. What is the price without TTL. Everyone pays different TTL so the only true way to know if you are getting a good deal is to tell us the price + dealer fee only. Is the car certified? Might be a good deal depending on your TTL costs.

Yea, well of course I tried that. He offered me a TSX instead. So I test drove it and still wanted the TL. Although, I did like the TSX....
The price came down a few thousand, he just couldn't come down a few more thousand. He said that it is Acura 151 point certified and comes with nav so he'll be a little higher than the guy down the street.

$21,800 is the lowest he would go to. Then TTL made it a little over $23,500.

He didn't mention dealer fees but he calculated and wrote down $23,500 as the out the door price.

That's what I assumed. I know enough to put my own nav in the car but it wouldn't look as right as the factory display does. The TLs without the nav look like they just put climate control there to fill in a void.

I'm not willing to buy out of state so I'm pretty much screwed on getting a great deal on a Type-S.....or even a TL for that matter.
The salesman said he have an 05 black with nav next week for about 20,000 out the door....with 45K miles.
So, I think I'll just go with that.

Here in ohio where i bought my 03 TL-S they have a few 06's for sale -
Specifically a 06 TL with NAV and the trimmings for $21,900 and its certified which means 7 yrs 100,000 mile warranty. Here they will negotiate and if you point something out they will fix it before or after the sale. BTW this car has 44k miles on it. www.motorcarsacura.com look at the pre-owned inventory.

Good luck!

Ha, well it just isn't worth the trip and the mileage it would gain from the drive back to save a 2 grand or so.....

Thanks for the advice. That's basically what I'm going to do. I was about to go ahead with the white TL for 23,500 but if I have to pay more than I think I should, I at least want to be 100% satisfied. The white is nice but I want black interior. And I really like how the contours show with the black paint.

Ha, yes. I live on eBay. There's nothing really close anyway, but I'm looking to buy only from Acura for the warranty. I think it is 50,000 or 12 months from purchase bumper to bumper and like 80k powertrain. There is one in New Orleans and the one I went to in Baton Rouge today.

Well, $21,800 probably isn't too bad a price according to KBB and Edmunds. Edmunds shows $22633 for dealer retail ($24,333 for certified) and $21,416 for private party (Clean condition).

KBB list $21,600 for dealer retail and $19,050 for private party (Excellent condiditon). KBB doesn't account for "certified".

You're right. It isn't a bad price at all. I just don't feel like paying the extra 3500 for it. A black 05 will be there in a few days for 20K. Same mileage, just a year older. That is fine with me. I just don't see paying much over 20K for a used car. ...even though it is a verrry nice TL.
