Im sure that's true. But being right often takes going to court to prove. That's the point I'm trying to make. Officers may or may not know if your doctors note/ dmv pass is valid. They write the ticket for something they KNOW is illegal and let the judge sort it out later.

Even if you're right you end up having to explain it in front of a judge alot of time when you're talking unusual circumstances.

PS, if you want to see better with it on. Try to swap factory with 6000K H.I.D. bulbs.
actually, the 6000K bulbs will produce less white light and you will see even worse. stick with the recommended 4300K for best vision

Even with all that proof, there will be officers that will write the ticket and let the court verify the validty of your certificate and dismiss the charges. Once that happens, you should keep a copy of the court dismissal along with your DMV certificate to show the next officer that may think your certificate is fake/forged.
Even then you may still get another ticket just because.

When I was much younger I had things done to my car that officers did not know what to cite it as. They would actually spend 15 minutes to flip through their code violation book and find something that seems to be close (but not exact) to what they want to ticket me on. They would then actually tell me that if I wanted to go to court, the ticket may not stick since they cannot find anything that represents what they see exactly.

looks good but damn i know you are going to be tired of getting pulled over left and right. I had my nissan maxima done the same way and even with a doctor's note they will still give you crap about it. There were numerous times ive been pulled over twice in the same day. so i just got tired of them thinking i was a drug dealer and took them off. Improved visibility at night as well.

I know it's only 2007 so the technology's not there yet. Maybe 2027?

Even then, some of the other posters on other threads said that a parked car with tints is a thief-magnet. The thieves figure, if the windows are tinted there must be some good property hidden inside (GPS, laptop, etc). So I guess you can't win.

Has anyone done a poll lately, on whether the color of the car interior or exterior leads to more traffic stops? I wonder if having a dark interior gets cops more defensive too. They can still see in, but it might look more sinister...

Looks good but I would have went with 50%, 35% will still get you pulled over ALL DAY and even though you have the permit, you still have to ACTUALLY be pulled over to show it. Not worth the harassment to me.

You clearly dont live in a state where front window tint is outlawed.

They will pull you over for tint all day long.

Not sure of the point of tinting the windshield, your vision is going to be horrible AND being in Jersey you're going to get fucked all the time.

Enjoy the fines!

I used to have the shield tint on my car, then had a friend who became a cop tell me about how its some type of federal offense to have your windshield tinted. $10,000 fine (depends on state) and even possible jail time.

The next week it was removed from my daily driver.

I think your cop friend is probably laughing his ass off right now... or thinking he saved u on tickets... I called my lawyer and asked him.... he said they can do anything they want with probable cause but they cant charge u 10K for not being able to see in your car.... but the windshield being tinted is enough cause for them to pull u over. But put this into perspective and tell ur cop friend this..... having ur windows tinted help us out because if god forbid we are in an accident the windshield and windows wont come crashing in on us they'll just flop over....and trust me its happened to me I got Tboned 4 yrs ago in my 03 type s and blasted a pole..... the only reason i wasnt cut from head to toe was because of the tint...super light tint at the time my mother was driving the car too.

He showed me the state laws, had something to do with operating the vehicle with anything that impedes the vision of the driver, would be considered a federal offense of some nature with a maximum fine of the $10k.

I am not saying I won't do it again, but when a friend who is a cop gives you a "heads-up" on something of that nature, I just took it as a friendly warning.

Ha! I was rolling thru Harrison on my way to the Path this am, and I saw a TL with a tinted windshield. Then I realized that it must've been yours.(Not too many cars with tinted windshields in NJ, period.) It actually looks real hott! But seriously, just laminate the dr and dmv notes cuz you're going to be handing them over a lot. You don't want them to get ruined.

you willl see less with 6000k as the kelvin temp gets higher you lose light. 4300k is used at the factory for a reason

Read your insurance policy too. If you wreck your car and jack up someone else and the insurance co decides that the're not responsible for damages because you couldnt see out your front window. You have a pretty big problem!

Dudechewy,

You should post in your thread every time you get pulled over for tint so we can see how bad it get's for you.

Also post how the officer reacts to your tint card.
